    Evocative Images of Lost Toronto

Minesweepers and Corvettes were built all over the place. If a location built ships before the war they built them for the war effort. Smaller locations built the minesweepers and corvettes. Collingwood was one location.

And was switched back to 215 now.

It is a Corsair, but it was a Royal Navy plane. They used some of them from escort carriers, etc.

Lost Road and Bridge: Lawrence Avenue

Considering how slow the traffic usually is on the DVP there, not really :) It is even slower right now with the temporary HOV lanes

    UT Forum New Design?

I swear it was not there before I posted, but now it is :) Great service! :)

    UT Forum New Design?

Please enable the "Mark Forums Read" button in each forum. This software allows for marking only the current forum read or all read when you do this. Right now we only have the option to mark them all read.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

They switched the forum software. They have not enabled a lot of features like "mark forum as read" etc.

    Target

A lot of Target merchandise has ended up at Closeout King. They just opened a new location in the old Halmark Cards building on Consumers Rd (along the 401 just east of DVP).

    Leaside

Glad to see my zombie comment caused some distraction :) I would be out of the city so fast.

    Leaside

How about they just shut up :) I think we have a case of agree to disagree. My only comment is this: I would much rather be in a low density, boring, area when the zombie apocalypse happens :)

What is this bridge structure over the Rouge River?

I have seen these elsewhere, usually with pipes/conduits running across them.

That is a cool photo of Leaside. The street on a angle is McRae.

Houses are not nearly as nice, lots are smaller, and closer to Yonge is a downgrade to me.

    Leaside

I also agree with those boundaries. My wife really, really wants to live in Leaside. The problem is she does not want to pay for it. You can see my problem here. I want to live there as well for all the reasons mentioned above in the thread. I just do not see it happening now.

We used to go there a lot. The twins discount helped. They had a discount for TPOMBA (Toronto Parents of Multiple Births Assoc) members.

    Target

A friend of mine in Burlington has seen the location on Appleby have something in stock on Thursday then disappear from the floor before the sale starts on Friday. More than once he has noticed this. Cramped, messy stores without helpful staff does seem to be the norm.

    Target

OMFG no. Just no. The closest to me has not done this yet.

    Target

We were talking about the customer experience in the store. Walmarts are crowded, usually very messy because of the crowds, noisy (again the crowds) and NEVER have enough cashiers on.

Has it not been dropped to 2? I see on Eglinton they have put stickers with 2 on the signs now. I have seen it enforced. I have seen police standing on the sidewalk with their cars hidden away pulling people over.

    Smart Centre developments

No, the work on the bridge is just maintenance.
