    Edmonton | Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

https://www.rentfaster.ca/ab/edmonton/rentals/apartment/1-bedroom/downtown/pet-friendly/566414 Fear not everybody, it's not $2k for a one bedroom here, they just updated it to $1500.

    Alberta Politics

Rumour has it Ceci might resign, Calgary-Buffalo is probably the safest seat in Calgary and would probably work better than Lethbridge-West for Nenshi.

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Honestly not as surprised tbh. It'll probably continue to grow at a decent pace over the next year or two. It's becoming a much nicer and comfortable journey than dealing with the 66 St traffic during rush hour, from my experiences. It doesn't help that it also opened on November too lol...

    Capital Line LRT

Ooof seems like we're not the only ones facing cost overruns

    Downtown

I'm sure it's a large chunk of it is playoff season, but downtown's reputation and vibe is much different this year. Really does feel like a turnaround growth year. I'm finally not getting weird looks from friends when I tell them I actually like going downtown lol

    LRT Safety

As someone who takes it now on a pretty regular basis, it's much better than 2021-2022. I'm seeing more Transit Peace Officers and more anti-loitering enforcement in some stations. It helps that ridership for all lines seems to be getting busier and busier every month.

    Edmonton Companies News & Discussion

That's also a thought I had tbh. There's probably much more residential development compared to industrial in recent years shifting the proportion. However tax base wise, the whole point of lower density suburbia is that it could be subsidized by commercial/industrial property taxes. If that's...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Yeah instead of tower clusters, what we might get along the Valley Line are more midrise/high density corridors. I personally would love to see more mixed use ground retail along the line because you can actually see it. We still might get Vancouver level TOD's in Millwoods, Bonnie Doon and...

    Edmonton Companies News & Discussion

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/council-pushes-to-boost-city-of-edmonton-s-lagging-industrial-tax-base-1.7240556 A bit of an oof but what hell happened in 2007-2008? Is that just the effects of the oil boom?

    General Infill Discussion

This is from Janz’s Twitter but it’s incredible seeing the numbers for some of the larger apartment infills.

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Probably as a springboard for future Metro line expansion. Blatchford Gate being built could have also been a provision for federal and provincial funding, similar to the Capital Line extension. (which makes sense considering the Feds/Provincials contributed almost $250 million to this compared...

    Currents of Windermere

Yeah I can confirm that as someone who's in a suburb beyond the Henday for the time being. The road sizes are much larger than they should for residential neighbourhoods, and they're extremely car dependent. They are denser than the bungalow era, and probably contribute to bus routes being...

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

I’m fine with limiting sprawl at the cost of increased housing affordability. We’ve got enough leeway with ZBR that infill development isn’t a complete painful experience like it is in the GTA when they implemented the Greenbelt and prices shot up. First wanting to make Blatchford allow SFH...

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE lmao Yeah, the trend of increased LRT ridership is set in stone. Honestly, I’m fine with that sort of omission. If these articles (even if they’re playing around with some facts) about LRT ridership approaching pre-pandemic levels make more people comfortable taking the...

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

    Downtown

Yeah, one or two more potential conversions would be cool and a win, but hearing 5 from that news clip caught me off guard.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Jesus this all sounds confusing as hell. From Open Data, we've essentially breached pre-pandemic ridership, and I'm guessing that's the metric we use with this news release. The Council Report should be accurate but it isn't a consistent metric that's been updated and was a one-off. APTA is...

    Downtown

It was mentioned at the end of the news clip, with literally no details besides that.

Five possible conversions by the end of the year? Did I hear that right?
