The new render looks way better to me. In case anyone is wondering, the sales centre is being built on the north side of the building right beside that run down store (I walk by it everyday and still forget what it is. Electronic/surplus I think?). The interior is almost done and looks nice.

Here's the view from their main meeting room. So unless the backdrop is faked or that one scene in the building is in a different location, it looks to be from lower don lands maybe or closer on the waterfront? I'm not familiar with that area so I don't know anything else.

Yeah I was being lazy :( The last one is supposedly Rosedale.

From the latest episode which all took place in Dundas Square/TLS (which for some reason they called Paradise Square) and the Eaton's Centre.

Boston Pizza is a terrible restaurant. I don't understand how they are still in business with much better restaurants out there that have roughly the same price range and demographic.

It doesn't have to mean that, and I'm not arguing it should mean that, but I already explained in my opinion why I think it's happening. There's really only one way to stop developers from building tall towers in neighbourhoods such as King West and that's with the City enforcing their plans...

Flashpoint is a Canadian show airing on CBS Thursdays at 9PM featuring a Toronto SRU (Special Response Unit) squad taking on hostage situations every episode. It's filmed in Toronto and doesn't hide it either! The last few episodes have started showing great shows of Toronto from the sky. Here's...

I think all these new tall towers are just supplying the customers demand for them and it all has to do with marketing. If one development company announces a 20 story building, then another company announces a 50 story building in the same area, which one is going to have better sales (all...

    CityPlace Condos

Does anyone know how much you could rent a parking space out for in Cityplace buildings? I'm thinking about renting there but I don't need a space and most come included with one. Also, does the unit number reflect the floor? For example, is #605 on the 6th floor and is #3205 on the 32nd floor?

I work right across from this building and the new Freed one at 500 Wellington. Oh and then there's 400 Wellington. Should be fun!!

Wendel Clark and his kids walking on Front to the Rogers Centre last week for a Jays or Argos game. He's really short.

    Shabby Toronto

It's the little things that make Toronto shabby to me. I walk down Front west everyday and right in front of the East Side Mario's at Simcoe there are 2 empty holes in the sidewalk where trees should be. Instead, they get filled up with rain water and look disgusting with garbage and cigarette...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

It doesn't matter if the rail berm is a barrier to the waterfront or not, the Gardiner is still a huge barrier. Removing it not only frees up space, it still removes a very big and imposing barrier regardless that there may be another barrier. It's not like there's going to be unimpeded access...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

The argument that the Gardiner shouldn't be torn down because the railways would still be a barrier to the waterfront is just ridiculous. So just because there's already 1 barrier means we might as well have 2 of them? The barrier would be at least cut in half by tearing down the Gardiner. How...

    Toronto Toronto | Rêve | ?m | 14s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

Since this topic came up, I have new developments about the sewage stench! I've been walking west on Front for almost 3 years now, and I mostly noticed the stench right at the Front and Spadina intersection. But since this water/spring, there's ~20 foot long area in front of the convention...

    Hosting

I've noticed that the forums has database and speed problems quite frequently and I read in another thread you guys pay for cheap hosting. I have a dedicated server that is currently underused which I would be willing to host UT on (depending on how much bandwidth it uses). If the forum...

    Toronto Toronto | Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

If that's the case, the criticism makes even less sense. Of course the area is barren; it's just beginning to get filled in by developments. Are people not suppose to live there until every empty lot is developed so it isn't as barren? It will take upwards of 10 years before you can really...

    Toronto Toronto | Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

I understand the criticisms about the lack of a true neighbourhood/community feel, but two people have mentioned it being "windswept". I may be naive, but what exactly are they supposed to do so it isn't "windswept"? Toronto is a windy city, especially when you're building tall towers (which...

Are there any plans to cover the substation? If not, the people in this building will have a great view! I think it was discussed earlier in the thread, but it would be great if a building could be made on top of the substation so that it's completely hidden and the land could actually be...
