    Eglinton-Crosstown Corridor Debate

yes, here's the guy talking about going FAST when he wants to add more stations on the yonge line - pure genius

    Rosedale: Should it be closed?

Read the consensus again and you'll see that it has something to do with the station not existing in the first place- which is exactly what my position is. I made the thread to see if others thought was viable for the station to be mothballed. Look at the satellite/air photos . low density? I...

    Rosedale: Should it be closed?

I think this is a major factor that willl prevent Rosedale from being closed down I didn't say I disagreed with the consensus or anything but your overreaction makes you look like a nutjob oh great! this will reduce the time it gets to downtown from Finch station (and any station that...

    Rosedale: Should it be closed?

There are no major developments around the station unlike Bessarion- which has concord park place to guarantee a steady ridership. I'm actually surprised to see that summerhill has lower ridership. Riding the yonge line every week day, I can tell you this is not true 3 million trips ...

    Rosedale: Should it be closed?

For those of us who use the YUS line on a regular basis, you might notice that at any given time, Rosedale's platforms are vastly underused compared to most other stations on the line (Summerhill is a close 2nd) Some look at the surrounding neighbourhood reveals why ridership is so low...

TTC Next Train / Bus announcements

what do you mean by most systems? If you're thinking European or Asian systems, forget it. Its TTC ... no match and yeah I ride the subway most days but I only see out of service trains 10% or less of the time

TTC Next Train / Bus announcements

you ask for too much its not very often a train out of service passes through

Bloor Station - New Crowd Control Measures

if you use the sheppard subway on a regular basis, you'll notice that the crowd is actually dispersed very well since the rest of the stations have exits away from the centre. And its a terminal station, dwell time is more than 1 minute anyways so there is no point

Bloor Station - New Crowd Control Measures

The new rocket solves problem #2 and as for markings on platforms, TTC trains seem to stop wherever they feel like depending on the conductor's mood.

    Toronto | 1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

wow the front is more aerodynamic than I thought it would be. The windows on the doors look extremely wide Im interested to see what the middle carriages look like now The new smooth sides look much better than the old sides with a thousand bolt connections It could use a red stripe at the...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

that will make the cards too expensive to manufacture. I dont know of any smartcard system that has a display on the card but some laptops have a reader so that you can pay with your card for online shopping (and presumably recharge/check balance as well)
  13. E

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

lol it will be much more useful on your hand or something since you make contact with the card reader. Imagine bending 90 degrees everytime you ride You mean Presto doesn't have the little lcd/led screen that displays current balance and balance deducted?

The City is fixing all the wrong roads

Yeah, I noticed there was heavy work for bayview at eglinton (beside McDonalds) and the Lawrence bridge- those 2 are done now so I hope they repave the whole road top to bottom (steeles to somewhere past queen st?) The section between 401 and york mills doesnt have that may utility cuts...

The City is fixing all the wrong roads

please expand on what you mean by utility cuts , is it like budget constraints? and if so, why was Mt pleasant re-done in just a week while Bayview is taking years
  16. E

The City is fixing all the wrong roads

My commute, from North York to Downtown, is done in the form of biking at times. I take Bayview Ave from 401 down to Davisville where I change to Mount Pleasant Rd then bike all the way down to Sherbourne. Bayview is one of the WORST roads in GTA, especially the section between 401 and...

Bloor Station - New Crowd Control Measures

you wouldn't need to emphasize safety if you had PSDs Plus, you'll need ATC before you can install PSD which will take forever for the TTC.

South Unionville Square (Kennedy n of 407, Mady Dev Corp, 12s, Turner Fleischer) COMPLETE

I thought most Chinese people in Markham were of Cantonese origin so Mandarin wouldn't work as well right?
