    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I just hope, they don't begin installing the readers 1-2 months or weeks before December 2016 at new stations. Hopefully, they'll phase in PRESTO and begin installation early 2016 and , else the there's going to be a lot of confusion, and people will feel that the card is being forced down their...

Just a few more days. Saw a reader switched on but not yet functional. Can't wait to stop waiting for an LRV in this cold.

If you see one of these black boxes at a subway station. Don't be alarmed. These boxes are for PRESTO SSKs that will be installed from this fall to the end of the TTC rollout . This particular one is found at osgoode... At the side it says Property of PRESTO so, its progress.

Honestly, I think best way to name a station is by naming them by the intersection if the street name is already taken, such as "Dufferin-Eglinton". I get why Metrolinx would want to name stations by the area (after all, they operate GO), but naming them by the intersection would improve way...

But when you think about, I'm glad the Province filled-in Eglinton West over Sheppard. If Eglinton were to be running today, the line wouldn't even reach Phase 2 extension, just like Sheppard. All UPX stations are designed to handle 3-car trains.

You are not the only one, people were posting complains on the PRESTO twitter page about this issue. Yet PRESTO replied "We'll send this info to our team", this happened over 2-3 months ago. This issue has persisted on only the Scheidt & Bachmann readers, not with the old Thales readers.

Usually GO posts posters with the French translation along side English either side by side, or on the back side of a handout, it never refers the website for information in French.

There is a plan to install PRESTO readers at all bus doors. All door boarding may occur at key stops to alleviate congestion at the front door. Yet all door boarding hasn't been confirmed by the TTC. Would be useful though.

It's not necessary on OC Transpo when a fare inspection officer asks you for ID,but this was during the transition period for PoP routes that use Articulated Buses for all door boarding. This is all I could get...

The biggest misconception of fare-by-distance by some in Toronto are high fare prices similar to those of GO. I support it fully, but with some additional perks ;).

You'll be charged to the end if the line when you next tap at a GO Transit device regardless if you tapped on at Union TTC. The only way to close a GO Trip is to tap off.

Other transit authorities have had the capping system post-pilot testing, they planned a fare structure and implemented it at the same time as their rollout progressed. The TTC does not have this mechanism as they're looking for other fare structure solutions and opportunities, this report will...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

There's no monthly cap present at least for the TTC at the moment. You'll be charged even if youve went over $130 in a month. In other words, you'll be paying more than for the price of a metropass with PRESTO. Initially, PRESTO was implemented on the TTC merely for convenience for GO and 905...

Its true, they gave me a "wtf" face when I showed them my presto card, assuming that they had the inspection devices. This happened to me at Spadina Stn as well.

So with the PRESTO streetcar pilot complete, we should be seeing a widespread installation of the readers on the CLRVs and ALRVs between now and December. My money is on October for when it'll begin, but the earlier the better. No new information for subway implementation, still "by the end...
