Hopefully they can also not have the storage tracks underground, which seemed quite silly originally. Should be possible to squish them in the CN corridor if CN allows or maybe next to the 407.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Definitely fantasy, given the 401 corridor is quite tight in several places and putting in any sort of transit corridor would probably means removing car lanes, which is unfortunately a political non starter, or maybe putting in elevated guideways with supports in the shoulders, but I’m not sure...

Probably due to a lack of cycling infrastructure, i assume?

Do all the other non highway roads not provide network redundancy already?

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I made a search for "bus loop" in the report and found out the purpose of the bus loop. Pg 211 of the report linked below: " TTC Bus loop for Route 54 at St. Andrews Rd " and on pg 22: " proposed short turn bus loop north of the station at Lawrence East " So the loop is for buses on the 54 short...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Haydepoon's post from yesterday shows the 16 providing local service to Sheppard and stopping on street on McCowan at Lawrence East Stn. I was thinking service north of Lawrence might be lower frequency since it is paralleling the subway so something like every other bus turns around at that bus...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

The EPR shows the bus terminal right beside it. The thing 300m north is just a bus loop, presumably just for buses to turn around. link: http://www.metrolinx.com/en/greaterregion/projects/docs/scarborough-subway-extension/03-RPT_SSE-EPR-Addendum_Appendix%20A.pdf page 8-9

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Not much we can do now, but point was just that the world wouldn’t have ended if the 401 was never built and we should stop wasting money on road expansions that don’t fix any problems.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Before I get into this, a bit about induced demand: There are only two (major) things that will discourage someone from using a road: traffic and tolls. I will ignore tolls, since the 407 and 412 are the only toll roads in Ontario. If there happens to be no traffic on a non-tolled highway...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

Sigh, how much money has ML wasted on decorating their website over and over?

Something like this, but extended into Downtown, could be used to relieve the Ontario Line once that’s overcapacity

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

Interestingly it mentions extending the 501 from Long Branch as “phase 3 (post 2041)“

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Pretty much every system in China has numbered exits, though I haven’t seen that on any systems in the rest of the world.

There’s actually somewhere where the Overground is below the Underground (Whitechapel)

Also, why end Line 3 at Davisville and St Clair West? Yonge could do with the extra capacity, and turning trains around at St. Clair West doesn’t seem ideal unless we do some major work on the station.
