http://www.bloor-yorkville.com/Bloor-Street-Project-bikerackinfo.html according to the above info, there are 80 racks over 4 blocks. That's 20 racks per block. Enough for 40 bikes per block, 160 bikes from Church to Avenue. I am sure that this is more than were presently there. I have also...

You're quite possibly right. It is too bad, as there are usually a few nearby bike racks that are unoccupied, and a whole whack of them on balmuto (a block away) that are never used. Cars have to drive around for spaces, shouldn't everyone else?

Perhaps this is contributing to the death of some trees... This was taken a few moments ago, on a tree that had just been replaced! I hope it gets cut down, and i wish some folks would take responsibility instead of blaming everyone else.

I think people assume that BIA's actively try to get retailers in their neighbourhoods, but that is not usually the case- they have no say in who goes in or how much rent will be charged, so you cant expect them to market something that they have no power to market! Also, i believe the vendors on...

The area between Church and Jarvis is not part of the revitalization.

Absolutely, it is the case with drivers, as well as cyclists. But cars get ticketed. Bikes don't. Most underground lot sin Yorkville have bike parking there too. Having a bike in front of the building you are going into makes it easier to keep an eye on, but when you are 20 stories up, there...

I think perhaps some people are lazy and expect to be able to park directly in front of whereever they are going. That is not the case for any other vehicle, so maybe searching for an appropriate spot instead of parking a bike where it is clearly stated otherwise is a good idea.

I guess all the new bike posts just aren't enough forthe arrogant cyclists who think they can just lock up anywhere, including brand new trees.

I beleive the chairs were placed there to show the Liquor inspectors the layout and size of the patio. i am sure they will beadding new tables and chairs, since they spent over 4 million on the interior... btw those chairs are now gone.

Actually the bike racks work well with U-locks. You just have to put the lock around the SKINNY side of the rack, not the wide side.
