    East Danforth

Noticed a new restaurant called Holy Chicken opening up just east of Donlands, in the place that used to be Lickin' Chicken or something like that. Looks more upscale, but can't find any more info on it yet. (Side note: what is with this city's obsession with religion-themed restaurants?)...

My source is the PSOS, which is an appendix to the Project Agreement. Not sure if it's publicly available anywhere. As far as I can tell, the PA currently has just regular old bike lanes, with a painted buffer where possible, except for Avenue to Yonge. Hopefully that gets amended with the fed...

Well, now that the Feds have committed $8.9m to the streetscaping and cycle track portions of Eglinton Connects, hopefully we start to design for that along the entire length... but it would need a variance to the current Project Agreement, so I'm not holding my breathe that it happens quickly...

Connects is interesting. As far as I can tell, Crosslinx is only contracted to implement Eglinton Connects between Avenue and Yonge as kind of a pilot. The problem, though, with the rest of Eglinton, is that we're just putting regular old bike lanes in, with no protection, for the rest of the...

Right, if you're going to make the mistake of having one dock at a transit station and none at all surrounding it to provide first/last mile possibilities, under any model, then sure, it's better with SoBi, but don't think either is by any means good. SoBi, in my mind, (and I've never used it)...

Sounds fine getting from the station, but seems like a lottery as to whether there will be a bike available for you when you need to get back to the station in the morning.

A dock at a TTC station is useless for most people unless there are at least a dozen more within a 2 km radius, away from the rest of the RT network. Like, the one's on the Danforth, I use because I happen to live across from one, but it just substitutes for walking or TTC trips. They're...

I don't know if it's public. It's in the Project Specific Output Specification (PSOS). I couldn't find it with a quick Google Search. I know the Project Agreement (PA) is out there somewhere.

Is the east tunnel "done"? Or is it just the boring? I don't know the specifics of that. They may still have to do tunnel work?

Think of how complex a station like Yonge/Eg will be to engineer (and value engineer) to ensure that the PA is met, MX, TTC, City, etc are all happy. Can't be done overnight.

Because they aren't even close to having a completed design.

Pretty sure this is the plan. Aren't they dismantling these things when they dig for the station? They're going to have to dig to continue the track west of where the machine stopped anyways.

Yeah, I just double checked. "Green Track" is clearly included in the agreements, including details about maintenance standards, how often to fertilize, aerate, weed, water, etc. Also lays out where it must be implemented, between X and Y streets, excluding bridges underpasses, stop platforms...

How can that possibly be correct when Crosslinx has the design, finance, build, maintain contract? They've been showing a green guideway through all of their drawings and official submissions through at least 30% (60% is coming up soon.) They wouldn't put it in there if it wasn't part of the...

I know, but I truly believe it this time. :D I'm keeping my eye on it from the inside. (I have no power to do anything about it.)

Relevant to UT, Ryerson has the only accredited undergraduate Urban Planning program in the city (caveat, I'm a graduate of it). You can't get that at U of T or York. Ryerson really decided to focus on specific programs, perhaps ones they thought the bigger universities weren't specializing...

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Yeah, but the deal won't be that they get to develop buildings on top of it. That's why the first step is to ensure that it is zoned as parkland or open space or whatever. That will have to happen before any sort of purchase. That's what I'd assume anyways.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

What owners? Would the city not be the owner if they acquire the air rights? That's the point of air rights. This isn't going to be some POP parkette.
