If this quality continues across the rest of the port lands area maybe we can call it Little Copenhagen.

One facade will have ‘crumpled’ metal panels, with windows cut in a grid. The glassy facades will have panels that angle in and out.

How do they define ‘easily’? Things can be distinct without being incongruous like this.

It doesn’t, it’s held up well. Particularly the silver glass and metal pieces which still look crisp.

This project could have been like the WZMH project on University that preserves a mid-century office tower respectfully, but there they actually responded to criticism and improved the way they integrated the old and new together in multiple iterations. Hope we can see the same thing here and...

The effort to ‘differentiate’ the old and new doesn’t make sense in this case. It would probably fit better with the original International Style ethos to simply expand the height but with the original facade language all the way up.

Hopefully the reason it takes so long for cladding is because they refuse to VE.

Thats the most grim looking siding I've ever seen

I’m glad the colour has a metallic quality to it. This could have easily ended up with that flat orangey colour that so many other projects use. You know the one.

It's so great to see them improve the design based on feedback. No more objections from me.

I appreciate this project because it shows you don’t need to build a high rise over a heritage building to restore it.

Wtf? Why the design downgrade?

That building desperately needs its cornice reconstructed. Always bothered me to see that strip of cheap corrugated metal scarring it. And get some central A/C in there while they’re at it.

That paint on the townhouses still looks so off. Why is it magenta? I guarantee any imperfections in the unpainted brickwork would have just given it character. And the window trim should have been a darker colour.

That gold leaf on the lettering is amazing.

Looks like these guardrails have been repainted. Most likely the bridge repaint will match them, if anyone's still wondering about the colour.
