299 Queen Street West (Bell Media Studios)

Glad there is something planned for this site. The black painted brick and generally ugly ‘back end’ of the buildings was always too prominent on Queen Street. Hope we get a development that fills in the existing holes in the street wall.

I like how they still use a similar font as the silo sign

The lighting is what people take issue with? I would have guessed it would be the architecturally unsympathetic signs on top that look like an alien face together with the facade openings.

Hard to believe the Keating Channel will look like this one day.

I was born in that building, what a damn shame that they are demolishing it. A piece of art moderne heritage being erased.

Nice work on the sign, I was particularly excited to see that. Will there be any walkways installed to connect the two silos? The openings remind me of the windows at OCAD, maybe they can get a similar treatment with a different colour frame around each one. Since they’re the tenant it could be...

This area is starting to feel like an actual part of the city instead of a purgatory for cars

Other cities, some smaller than Toronto, have buried their obtrusive 60s infrastructure years ago, but somehow we "can't afford it."

They should leave this empty lot at the corner as a park. It's the best view point of this complex, but apparently they want to put a glass highrise here. Would be even better if they seamlessly connected it to the Police Memorial Park through the arcade.

Yes between the glass cube at the corner that I can't discern the purpose, the way the brick faces are split instead of wrapping around the entire corner like a normal building, and the chunky silver window frames, it looks 30 years old already.

Nice to see how they will urbanize that parking garage without completely demolishing it.

What are the chances of the lemon and orange bridges actually getting their matching twins? I can’t see how they would be installed.

I’ve noticed a disturbing trend lately of heritage brick facades being painted during larger scale developments. Hopefully it won’t be the case here.

Photos really don't do this justice, it needs to be seen in person. The curved glass is stunning.

The Bathurst bridge was painted black, but that was its original colour. Are there any examples where they changed it?

It’s always been green so they’ll probably just restore that colour
