Looked to me on the first Nashville goal Campbell was trying to flip the puck up to the d-man who was a bit farther up, but instead of being a solid pass, it dribbled off his stick and onto the attackers.
Been there many times myself 🥅
Could it come down to ownership and maintenance? If TransEd owns the space and is supposed to maintain it, then I could at least understand the logic of not opening the space, even if I don't agree with it.
30 peak and 60 off-peak if I remember correctly from the meeting. What really bothers me is you've got regional transit planning to go ahead with this AND you've got city council asking ETS about creating a route from downtown to the airport. They're not at cross-purposes, but they certainly...
For comparison's sake, here is a picture of Beach Ave in Vancouver. The City of Vancouver converted it in 2020 after much opposition from local residents because of concerns over emergency access and parking (where have we heard that before). Now, it is one of the more pleasant rides in the...
There's a huge school of thought that one ways kill street life. Look at 102 Ave and 103 Ave in downtown Edmonton. They were bustling streets back when, but they died as one-ways and still suffer. Great for moving cars -- death for just about every other thing that makes a city great
Under previous management, they were planning on connecting US passengers through YYC to Europe, much the way AC does through Toronto and Vancouver. I assume that's still their hope to fill the 787s.
When you read the ETS planning documents sent to council earlier this year, the Calgary Trail route has more to do with south LRT reaching capacity than it does with demand along the route itself.
Aren't the bars set far enough apart for park maintenance to get through when they're open, but narrow enough to prevent vehicles from going through when they're closed? I suppose the other option would be to have a lockable bollard that could be laid flat for a service truck to access the trail.
They have in the recent past, been all about keeping costs low. The main reason they don't offer connections is that introduces complexity, and costs escalate from there.
So your idea is logical but I doubt Flair will go there for quite some time, if at all.
