TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

So they just need to send a car every other day from now on till the end of the year (9 in 18 days) to get to 65. :(

High Speed Rail: London - Kitchener-Waterloo - Pearson Airport - Toronto

What about evening/weekend trains as far as Bramalea, or Mount Pleasant in the meantime? Not a peep about that, despite owning the corridor from Union up to about 300 feet short of Bramalea and laying an extra track up to Mount Pleasant.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Yes. But there are only gray machines at the airport station, not green ones. And the two are not yet integrated. It’s a hassle, but what to do?

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Maybe the TTC should implement the 2 hour fare/transfer on King immediately. Then more riders may be inclined to make a stop or two along King that may not be happening now.

407 Rail Freight Bypass/The Missing Link

I would be. Thanks for the help

407 Rail Freight Bypass/The Missing Link

One of the links referenced a meeting back in April. Just musing aloud because there is no mention one way or the other in this latest update.

407 Rail Freight Bypass/The Missing Link

So no one was in the room to ask about trains to/from Bramalea/Mount Pleasant in the meanwhile?

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

That may be on paper somewhere, but the ground they will run on has been barely prepped let alone properly graded and ready for any paving. 401E to 403W isn’t even close to being done early works. Early 2018 sounds very optimistic to me.

Food court’s opening mid-year 2018. I suspect McD’s will be ready first thing

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Yay!! Finally! Hopefully they’re open late, especially Amano & Union Chicken. A warm/hot nighttime bite on the way home not named McDonalds would be more than welcome. (Hello Starbucks & Bagel Stop!)

    Subway To Mississauga: Routing

Wasn’t there a plan in place with a budget, to at least get 2 dedicated tracks down on the Milton Line to increase Go service to at least hourly all day? Price tag in the neighbourhood of $2-2.5 billion (please correct me if I’m wrong). On the other hand, any subway that gets anywhere near...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Man. All that money ($1.7 billion plus) for... not... all day 2 way 7 day hourly service...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I like this comment and wholeheartedly agree with its plausibility. What I’m saying is that there should be a solution that gets Go at least as far as Bramalea if not Mount Pleasant evenings and weekends with hourly service that wouldn’t step on CN’s toes as far as operating their business and...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Agreed. I can only speculate that they stopped work because Bramalea may be undergoing a redesign a la some of the Barrie Line stations with regard to future RER/densification. But why not finish it as is and put it into service with an eye towards getting evenings/weekend hourly trains at least...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Unfortunately it looks more and more like we aren’t going to be seeing any more tangible service improvements until (unless) the Missing Link is built.

Great Platform Height Debate: Subway-Style Level Boarding for GO Trains

At Union makes a certain amount of sense. I'm not so sure about the rest of the system.

    Toronto Toronto | Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Yeah. It may be time for some form of electronic gate, activated by the streetcars. Smh....

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

He isn't. I'm complaining too. Brampton undoubtedly lost some credibility on the transit file when they for-goed on their part of the Hurontario-Main LRT. Also didn't represent themselves well when they went to the Feds? or Province? (I forget which) to advocate for a stop on any high...

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

Queen’s Park are the ones absorbing the difference though, with the current agreement with the local transit agencies as well as in this new deal with the TTC, so while it may look differently when you tap your Presto, the discounted fare is technically the Go fare. The municipalities do collect...
