I don't really care about the building, but I've always liked the look of the park there and thought it would be an ideal spot for a patio. It's a shame the new design calls for it to be demolished. 😢

I like the curves higher up, but somehow it looks bland at street level. What's happening with the two older buildings next door? It seems the renderings are showing it beside buildings that don't actually exist, or am I just missing something?

Again, this is a bit of a personal thing, but I liked the idea of the spa right on the water (not moved further away to the EX grounds or a "rail deck park") as it reminded me of similar "sentos" I used to enjoy in Japan. I was looking forward to watching the snow fall over the lake in winter...

Point taken about trees interfering with rides, but I have a question - If Ontario Place is supposed to be for everyone in Ontario and not just Toronto, what's the draw of a simple park?

I guess I'm a weirdo, but I prefer the original proposal. 😒 Why don't they green over the EX grounds so it could be a park most of the year & still function as the midway during the CNE? You'd still get your park that way and we'd still get a nice new beach at Ontario Place.

Thank you for the detailed reply. I suppose since there were fees to enter the amusement park and water park that used to occupy the same space, I didn't really see it as much different. Maybe we could push for sumac trees instead of palms? (Kidding)

Really? 😢 I'm super stokes for this! We have nothing like it in Toronto right now.

I'm surprised by everyone's lack of support for this. I used to live in Japan and the biggest thing I miss is sitting in a hot bath (sento or onsen) while watching it snow. I'd rather push to make sure they get this right than hope it fails.

Delisle Court (Yonge at Health St) has a semi-outdoor escalator. It's covered but not heated. Does that count?

Looks nice, but smaller than I expected. I hope maybe they'll widen it in the future.

I follow someone on Instagram who lives at 90 Ontario street and they justed posted today that the building will be empty in two days.

While you have Wong-Tam's ear, could you request that the opening hours for the Cloud Garden be extended once it reopens? Mon-Fri only until 3pm means it's very hard for those of us that don't work downtown to ever enjoy it!

Oh, the concept drawing made it look like it would be gone in the end! Thank you for clarifying!

Can't believe they want to tear down the Albert Britnell building. When the Starbucks was there, it was gorgeous inside. 😢

I'm late to the game, but I just visited this building today specifically because the sunken courtyard looked interesting. Indeed, it was. So, I'm not so sure how I feel about the redevelopment of that bit. Just tell Timmies to stop plastering their windows with posters that mean their customers...

It looks like they're planning for only Grades K-6 (which I think is normal for TO as opposed to K-8 elsewhere in ON?) and only one classroom per Grade.
