GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Cold day but lots of work ongoing. Big year for Maple GO! Looks like underground structural work is completed on the west platforms for access to the two tunnels. South of the accessibility platform is closed and piles were completed this week for the start of that tunnel access work.

No I just meant both hospitals are 1.2 million sf which is another way you can see the cost increase.

Yup but Cortelucci is designed for 550 beds, Level 9 and 10 are shelled. They are both around 1.2M square feet. It's interesting that a $3.5+B contract was progressed with two bids - one being a Spanish company that has practically no experience in Canada.

Contract finalized today. https://www.infrastructureontario.ca/Contract-Awarded-South-Niagara-Hospital/ Take a look at the value compared to Cortelucci to see what has happened to healthcare construction costs in the province!

    Toronto Toronto | CAMH Discovery Centre | 41.6m | 7s | CAMH | KPMB

The P3 civil side has seen decent competition. The social side has just failed to bring in new players after Bondfield/Carillion exited and even smaller GC's like Walsh seem to have left. Pomerleau/Bird/Amico/Sacyr are available and bidding but there are going to be lots of massive new hospital...

https://www.infrastructureontario.ca/Request-for-Proposals-IssuedCentre-for-Addiction-and-Mental-Health-(CAMH)-Phase-1D-Redevelopment/ Thought it was interesting that the RFP has been released for 1D but once again only 1 team has been shortlisted (Trillium Queensway in October as well). It...

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

It's my understanding the Mammoet hydraulic equipment at the east abutment slowly pushes the girders across and rollers are placed on the piers and abutments to make this smoother. The additional red structure attached at the west end of the girders is lifted by a crane when they are moving to...

The capital costs are noted in the first sentence of the press release: Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have awarded a contract to Connect 6ix valued at $9B ($2.3B for capital costs and $6.7B for short-term construction financing and transaction costs, train costs and 30-year operations...

Imagine the government timelines of Taking Pictures -> Having Pictures Approved by all Parties -> Deciding to Write an Article -> Drafting Article -> Getting Approval of Article -> Publishing the Article. 1 day of work for a website like UT, but 2 months of work for MX.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Not saying I know anything but why else they would be doing site investigations on a flat parking lot for any other reason than preparing condition reports and bid documents for further development. A parking structure was previously announced and stalled since then, and MX has continued to sell...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Interesting little development at Maple GO - they have been digging test holes and monitoring wells these past few nights in the main parking lot area. Looks like the parking garage money is available again...or maybe its going the way of Mimico.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Construction is mostly wrapped up at Rutherford with just some outstanding landscaping works at the east platform area. There are plans for a 3rd track in between the current 2 as a passing track but it will be at the same grade and not added until required by GO Expansion several years down the...

From: https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/The_Canadian "Trains returning to Vancouver would leave Union Station either from the East as it came in from (if turned around prior), or from the West. In the latter case, the train would then proceed North along the Newmarket Subdivision, shared by GO...
