Hey @Marcanadian may I pick your brain as to why this station is your favourite over Pioneer Village? This is coming from someone who has only experienced it through your photos :)

As a Gemini I harbour a predisposed attraction to buildings with competing elements but this clunker comes off less a playful expression of opposites and push/pull and more the product of an unsound mind. Bleak grey spandrel as deadened synapses/grey matter, anyone?

Stripes will always be in fashion and as the ones on the sidewalk evoke those of the balconies I'd say they're in good taste as well.

I do hope it all ties together in the end but at present the tower and podium are two disparate elements that jar too much*. If only the vertical shared more of the juggernaut presence of the base. Though the flat affect of the "stone" facade could use more texture and rhythm too (is it better...

The new crown appears to be communicating with Aura across the street, "I've surpassed you". Whether Aura understands this attempt at dialogue is anyone's guess... On the other hand, the newly designed base is not speaking my language.

Could it be Muji? https://www.muji.us/store/ Its almost the stark opposite of Uniqlo as far as colour goes. Muji is more about basic black/white and grey tones while Uniqlo is bright and colourful.
