I totally agree, so much barren asphalt. Just happened to be the flight path I took on my way to Fort McMurray via Edmonton. I'll look at which directions flights are taking off before my flight and try and get a window seat that allows me the best views of the city.

I believe The Guardian towers are the tallest residential towers, Telus Sky will be but that's mixed use.

The blue glass on all those buildings is so easy on the eyes. To me it looks very modern, mind you I don't quite have the eye that most of you do for what is to be expected of a modern cosmopolitan city skyline.

I was at the Calgary tower in June for a dinner and I really liked that little node in Mission there tucked in to the Elbow River.

I was digging around too but couldn't find much. I have, in the past seen a lot of negativity directed towards Calgary, maybe some of it due to some Calgarians gloating during the good times but it seems most of it is baseless which leads me to believe the underlying issue is jealousy.
