Im not a fan of the way Tim Hortons has taken up the whole retail base, but outside of that I am fine with having at Tim's in East Village. I never go to Tim's myself but I always see they are very busy. What East Village could use is more people outside of the river path area.
I'm going with Nenshi. It's true he can be irritating and maybe he's partly to blame for the divisive Council but he's the best of the three. I'm not sure what Smith and Chabot ore actually bringing to the table.
I planned to go on a big rip tearing rant about SSP, but it seemed kind of pointless so I deleted my three or four paragraphs of ranting. At the end of the day things are good at this site, I only hope it stays that way.
I wonder if the people who bought your company's building also bought the other buildings around it with the idea of a new development?
Seems like an odd building to buy unless planning to bulldoze.
I guess the city probably owns the hill below SAIT, but maybe a deal could be worked out with developers to build something mixed use on the hill with a large pathway down the middle?
Agree 100% with you and SP. Centre street is right up there in the underutilized category too. The section of Center Street up to around 32nd Ave. even has the potential to be a Marda loop type area.
