    Anthony Henday Drive

If you’re worried about safe interchange spacing, I don’t think we need to worry about 137 Ave. However, 50th Street is a little too close to the Manning Drive interchange.

    Fantasy Transit Maps

Love this map you made, but your alignment for the Metro Line to Sherwood Park gives me quite the dilemma for my own map. On the one hand, your alignment serves every high-density node in Sherwood Park quite well, with the potential to extend the line to Bremner, but it has poor accessibility...

    Skyrise Winter 2024 Meetup

Ooh, I'd love to join this Skyrise meetup (and maybe even bring a friend :) ). Felice Cafe is lovely, although they don't really have much for food, so if you guys are also thinking of getting dinner after grabbing a coffee, Panini's is a short walk away. @ChazYEG I know you'd love that ;)

5 minute frequencies until 10 am? Even the Capital Line doesn’t do that. This is great to hear

    Fantasy Transit Maps

The existing CN rail ROW doesn't directly follow the Yellowhead east of Edmonton. It cuts across the northeast corner of Sherwood Park and then runs to Ardrossan before heading further southeast to Tofield.

How do you propose we should run the Energy Line down Whyte Ave? At-grade or grade-separated (probably underground)?

    Fantasy Transit Maps

Wait, you actually read all the station descriptions? That makes me so happy! Yeah, it looks like I need to update some of them (I made the map a while back). And yeah, after 40 years since they annexed that land, they're finally developing it. Crazy.

I am starting to see the argument against them though. The Valley Line south of Mill Woods would have to cross multiple...

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

What I imagine while watching all the other big cities in Canada getting overrun with a housing crisis (including Winnipeg), knowing what's in store for Edmonton:

Plot twist: Danielle Smith is a train-loving socialist larping as a hardcore conservative to infiltrate the UCP.

    Alberta Politics

I've said this before, but with our provincial politics being a competitive 2-party system (especially if current demographic trends hold), the UCP can't afford to neglect Edmonton, and the ridings within city limits that sit along the Henday will become more competitive battlegrounds. If the...

    Capital Line LRT

The official reason the city gave for elevating the Valley Line over 170th Street is that it's considered part of the city's "inner ring road" (same with 75th Street) so they didn't want to disrupt traffic there as much.

    Capital Line LRT

Wait, are you referring to the Metro Line over the Walker Yards? I was referring to this:
  18. yeggator

    Capital Line LRT

Based on measurements of the 137th Street underpass below the CN rail tracks on the North Side, the roadway needs to descend across ~200 m on each side of the LRT crossing to achieve sufficient clearance with a low-enough grade. Based on the renders, the station will be just west of the transit...

    Capital Line LRT

That shouldn’t create problems for trenching Ellerslie Road under the Capital Line Extension though, based on the visible alignment of the pipeline.
