Do they have a construction loan commitment to actually build this humongous and complicated building?

LPAT or OMB? Which is it? Would someone please answer my question? The new LPAT will dramatically empower the local councillor and thus city council and the planning department so this is a critical point for this or any new proposal downtown.

Is this application under original OMB rules or new LPAT rules? Seems to me that if it’s the old rules the precedent won’t matter.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

Another one bites the dust. Identity politics is JUST SO RIDICULOUS.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

Here’s where Canada stands on gender: First Female Prime Minister 1993 First Female Premier 1991 First Female Mayor 1936 Enough of the politically correct nonsense. The women fought and won the battle of the sexes decades ago. The issue is right vs left, not he vs she. I’m tired of it and...

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

...don’t know you, not judging you, don’t really care about your opinions either way. Again, why does it matter? It’s arguably the most open, free and tolerant metropolitan area on earth so who cares why? No one is denied the right to run for public office. Who’s this ‘we’ you’re...

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

What difference does it make what race or gender the candidates are? There's nothing stopping anyone from running. Anyone who votes based on race or gender is a bigoted fool but that's besides the point. Seems to me your comment demonstrates a bias against Caucasians and does nothing to...

Hopefully he goes back to carding suspicious looking people randomly. That usually does the trick.

Before you know it Yorkdale will be home to 10,000 condo residents so they're probably waiting til then to extract additional security from the developer.

I think the right approach is to locate them adjacent to hospitals.

Check my edit. Anyway, I actually hope this project goes ahead, it’s an interesting addition to an incredible neighbourhood just not at the proposed height.

I like heritage on a case by case basis, not simply by age of structure. In areas like the Annex, Beaches, Rosedale, QWW I love the idea of mid rise with a real connection to the street. Save the towers for the avenues and the apartment neighbourhoods where tall buildings are appropriate.

Not at all. It should stay a LOW TO MID RISE neighborhood and the City, in exchange for the change in zoning, should require a portion of those new units be dedicated to lower than average income earners. Yes, that is something to emulate. Absolutely.

It SHOULD remain as it stands hence the enormous desirability of the Annex neighbourhood across a wide demographic of residents that spans incomes, ages, and ethnicities. Why do you think the West Village in Manhattan is so desirable? Because it’s a low density enclave in a forest of...

This clumsy Sim City perspective proves my point, not the developers. This area, west of Avenue Road, north of Bloor Street, is LOW or MID RISE.

There is, you are correct. And it was constructed in a different era. Today the mandate is to preserve the character of neighborhoods.

More likely 12 storeys. This is a mid rise area.

Are you sure this isn't a second rate college dorm? It is just so plain and institutional looking aside from that hideous slab overhanging the post office. And those windows are awful!

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Not at all PinkLucy. It's the figure that I call into question, not the validity of the contract. Where does the number come from? And I quite agree that if the savings from canceling the wind farm don't outweigh the potential costs associated with it the government should not cancel it.
