That’s why the Fords were “friends” with him in the first place. To keep Randy out of Metro West

Looks like there’s still room for it, though the renders don’t show anything. Would be pretty simple to move it onto queens park if needed.

Those alaso serve as a loyalty test for moderates. If they won’t vote with you when stakes are low they’re not going to when stakes are high. Also makes them “complicit” and easier to whip later on when it gets tougher.

The more interesting questions are who’s pushing the defection narrative and why. These stories don’t appear out of nowhere - there’s a faction in caucus with a shadow leader/operatives trying to stir up shit. Assuming it’s the progressive wing, probably Mulroney backed by the old party...

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

So, for those keeping track on the incumbency poll, the winning number is 4 new faces on council: - Mike Colle* in Ward 6 (*with a bullet - replaced his son, and he was also a former councillor) - Brad Bradford in Ward 19 (open seat) - Cynthia Lai in Ward 23 (open seat) - Jennifer McKelvie in...

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Grimes will not win because of vote splitting - his corrupt ass will beat the next two combined. Name recognition + Tory and Di Ciano endorsements will be too strong.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Progress Toronto has been doing robocalls talking about Grimes’ corruption. Good for them. Also, anyone who campaigns against sidewalks needs a boot to their nimby-riddled brain.

Any Canadian who uses “patriot” in a sentence should be smacked upside the head with a canoe paddle. But then Nick’s a cadet instructor who thinks he’s a combat veteran.

Are you kidding? He’ll get a cushy provincial appointment by Christmas. Probably get put in charge of uploading the TTC or something.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

I’ve done the vote alignment analysis before - other than outliers like Mammo, any two councillors/mayor tend to vote together at least 80% of the time. There’s a lot of routine stuff there - though perhaps less now that RoFo isn’t forcing recorded votes on everything. You need to look at just...

That's more to do with Quebec's massive water resources. No other city in that list has similar access to cheap sources.

Except they're probably going to be around for another 50 years. That kid running for trustee is no doubt getting ready for a 2022 council run.

Surprised they didn't go with Pamela Gough. She has much higher name recognition from being a school trustee.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

The least unfair model is a runoff debate. If there are 2 front runners and a peleton of 3-5 chasers, have a preliminary debate with just the second tier. The “winner” by some subjective measure then gets invited to the big table.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

A blue fire hydrant would've elected 11 PC seats. Brown did more to win the last election than he did. The caucus needs to be reminded constantly that Ford didn't do shit.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

You need to read between the lines. The PCs will cut their budget by hacking away at transfers to agencies and crown corps, but forbid them from firing anyone. This means a dramatic increase in user fees and prices by hospitals, provincial parks etc... and a reduction in capital expenditures by...
