GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Milton can actually be turned into a transit centric town if the vision was ever there and if there was a council that could advocate for it. The location for the town is nicely centralized for the west end of the GTA and getting to destinations in all 4 directions feels like an equal distance...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If you really look at it, it’s not like Mississauga is completely lacking transit outside of the Milton line. We still have the Transitway, Hurontario LRT (soon), Lakeshore West and Malton on the Kitchener line. There’s 3 GO train lines running to different parts of the city and now 2 of them...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I was just being satire, just saying that they aren't going to do anything with RH for at least for a very long time. Now especially as the subway is coming up to Richmond Hill, and with connections at RHC/Finch to GO anyway, there is even less demand for the line. So what will be the most...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

They could do that… but the train service in the GTA overall is still too Union Stn centric so it’s highly unlikely they would do this at all. Milton all day 15 min or better service is more believable than them ever touching the RH line in the next 15 years.

Its bus service, but its surprising to see Scarborough Centre to 407 Station only cost $3.70. Oddly enough if you get off at the stop before at RHC, they charge you $5.13.

^ They couldn't even get their replacement bus service to run all day let alone on weekends. That's how low priority RH is to the rest of the GO network and its sad to see considering it does connect to great locations on the line.

It's almost as if Metrolinx doesn't truly know how to build ridership and just thinks of the politics behind the overall RER project. At least 30 min all day service to Bramalea and Unionville could've happened a while ago and then we would have 4 lines at that level of service, but they chose...

    miWay Transit

I’m happy Lisgar GO seems to be getting more attention now. 38 is the only Miway route that goes there but there’s good destinations in both directions so that makes up for it. Brampton has been generating some riders going to employment areas near the station, so Zum has been getting more...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Not all of the branches are heading to Port Credit though, just one of the 3 (21C) that will service Erindale, Sq One and Cooksville only before heading there, so that will be the one thing that'll head to Port Credit this summer and that's it. The other 2 branches will be heading to Oakville...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

They should’ve thought about the alternatives as well. For example, 66 going to Highway 407 instead of Yorkdale actually helps for a really efficient enough alternative to get downtown, but its has an atrocious bi hourly schedule and runs only on weekdays which is unacceptable. If they ran this...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If that was the case, they should’ve considered going to Bramalea as there’s way more capacity there. Now with weekend trains and more frequent 407 service its a whole lot easier to get directly to certain parts of Toronto from there. The Oakville detour isn’t all that bad, but they might as...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

It got discontinued because DRT already has pretty much took over service to those points now, except for Beaverton. 88A also got discontinued for a similar reason as well.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The more I think about it, the more its like they were like "hey we're going to cut huge chunks of train service on Barrie and Stouffville, but here's a list of massive changes we'll make to other parts of the region that has nothing to do with the area that will severely affect you to...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Guessing they did that because they thought the Sportsworld stop could get riders to downtown Kitchener and more specific points via the ION. 30 will still serve these stops, and the new 17 route will have a new stop near the DT area, so they might’ve thought there was no point in having another...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Notable changes: - Weekend hourly Kitchener service to Mount Pleasant, including 30 and 33 buses - No off peak/weekend service on Stouffville and Barrie (exception being some trips to Allandale on weeekends), buses will replace during off peak and weekends - Milton buses will be rerouted to LW...

Service changes for April 8-10 are here and ITS A LOT I STILL CANT PROCESS IT https://www.gotransit.com/en/trip-planning/go-service-updates/train-schedule-changes https://www.gotransit.com/en/trip-planning/go-service-updates/bus-schedule-changes

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Do you think we’ll see any type of increase in service by the fall? Let’s say 30 min all day for now to Bramalea, including weekend service. Also to Unionville as the improvements on its line seem to be finished by then. Would they be the type to just wait until the crosstown opens so they can...
  18. A

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

Maybe they'll consider Malton as just being in Brampton's zone due to the line's very short time in Mississauga and it would be very unnecessary if they charge riders an extra zone they didn't even wanna be in the first place. Burlington and Oakville should just be merged into one zone and be...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Stations like Exhibition, Rouge Hill, Cooksville, Port Credit, and of course not to mention Kipling/Kennedy also have nice connections with other modes of transit. If Metrolinx were to even go as basic as some of these mentioned stations and not something as deeply integrated as Bramalea or the...

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

At this point, a subway extension from VMC to these points would be more believable than YRT making sense for once and expanding on their own. The only other YRT service that is up there is... well Yonge, and would you look at that its the other corridor that will have a subway extension...
