I live close by and have seen these rise. The first three words think of are: Appropriate, confident, contextual. This development enhances Cawlaw and is sensitive to the area's low-rise nature and industrial past. They are excellent additions and the future of Carlaw is looking up.

Can someone help explain the appearance of those vertical stripes/discoloured glass panels? Are they supposed to be discoloured? Is it because the glass in these sections are infront of concrete so they appear darker? Is it because they were installed later and therefore haven't blended in...

Thanks for posting that. Those old tree coffins were brutal and never allowed for the roots to gain any traction. The new planters look great.

I think it has a great sense of scale. It isn't too massive but it stands its ground and makes you take notice. It is also clean looking without being boring and, as SP!RE said, the corner loft windows add visual interest.

They would get damaged so quickly - little dings and nicks everywhere. Carpet is far more forgiving and also adds warmth and sound absorption.
