Roads: Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration (City of Toronto, UC)

They were already making a pretty good dent in the abutments by this morning. I think it'll be hectic, but I agree they'll have everything out in one closure for Kipling.

I thought that a weekend was an ambitious timeline to take out both bridges, but after watching the Dundas/Bloor overpass bridge come down yesterday, during a snowstorm, I think they'll pull this off.

WB Bloor bridge over EB Dundas ramp is gone.

Before/after traffic flow. Bonus sounds of bridge demolition.

They are still technically there, at least for another week.

I think so, yes. Your mockup with the improved hierarchy is an improvement, but the overall concept is still a failure.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

It fails on a lot of levels. 1. Not clear as to what destination relates to which arrow 2. Random ranges of numbers that daily commuters might know as track numbers, but if you're expecting that level of knowledge from the viewer, what's the point of the sign in the first place? 3. Not modular...

I've been a graphic designer for just about 20 years, and aside from some small scale in-house wayfinding, this is the kind of project that I've always dreamed of - creating a legible, usable communication system to get people where they need to be quickly, without adding to their panic.

I'll agree that your mockup is better, but what it's still missing is real clarity on which boxes apply to which direction, in other words, where's the break? The whole BG is black, including the framing. How about a heavy white vertical line all the way from top to bottom to clearly show...

Yes, I've seen it myself. I also watched drivers from the Essex condo move pylons on Dundas so they could turn left out of the driveway - which, as it happens, wasn't permitted before this project. Now those pylons are all strung together so no left turns. But actually what I think they're...

One can only hope. That place is the worst.

As in who Kipling Ave was already named after? (According to some)

This is getting pretty close to grade. Considering that the agreement with the City requires Main & Main to construct the sidewalk in front of the pumping station prior to the issuance of any above ground permits, it looks like a) construction will halt on the building very shortly, b) they will...

Both north and south curbs are in, and concrete in the roadway! We can now see the whole width of the vehicular ROW for the new Dundas.

Looks to be about 600m from the farthest spot to the GO tunnel. And about 700 from that spot to Islington station.

I was seeing people getting off and walking from basically the turnoff from SB Kipling and walking into station through the bus bays. Oh, and another tidbit from my email exchange. The new roads (Partial Dundas on the E side, St Albans extension etc) will now open in December. The last update...
