    Toronto Toronto | Yonge at Wellesley Station | 129.2m | 41s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

34 Maitland on the other side is boarded up but is not part of this project. It must not be owned by Plaza, but maybe somebody was thinking to make some money or do some block-busting. My guess is Plaza did not like the asking price. I do agree that daycare would be a good use.

Well, obviously the house is not staying because it has way more style than the new building. As for the podium? Why retail? This is a side street. Put some townhouse units there.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I've never heard that. I heard the Relief Line was to relieve Bloor/Yonge station specifically and points south by siphoning off commuters from areas to the east, like Scarborough. The Don Mills LRT did go north to Sheppard, but Metro city was to expand LRT everywhere (as a cheaper alternative...

    Toronto Toronto | 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

I'd say that's very doubtful. The charter for the OFT has just been renewed. Maybe you should advocate for two northbound left-hand turn lanes instead. First Capital could include it in their development plans. They already seem to want a lot from government, like moving the GO station, adding...

Toronto Toronto | Ontario Court of Justice Toronto | 95.7m | 17s | Infrastructure ON | Renzo Piano

I guess that was the 'address' of the parking lot for property tax, etc. until the province bought it. I notice that some of the addresses here on UT use 11 Centre Street, but it is 11 Centre Avenue.

Pardon me if this has come up before, but why is the project address 11 Centre Avenue if the main lobby is at Armoury and Chestnut? Does it have multiple addresses?

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

But if you wanted to build ridership on that line, and as an alternative to using cars, making the investment worthwhile, maybe a different approach is required. Instead of serving the immediate vicinity along the line, make it serve a greater area as a whole and the large airport employment...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

What would it take to be a subway-worthy corridor? What if it was a 'rapid' cross-town route that was an alternative to the 401? End points being the airport and the STC? The stations could be at one-mile points on the main roads. Would that generate enough users to cover its operating costs? I...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

One odd thing is that, if the Vancouver technology is adopted, is that it is a newer version of the current Scarborough LRT. The TTC did not want to upgrade the Scarborough LRT to the newer Bombardier because they did not want multiple LRT technologies and the Bombardier was/is aged. And they...

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Obviously, you have not visited. The noise is above the roadway, except for the crossing of expansion joints. And similarly for the exhaust, that's a problem for the whole district, not underneath.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Back to the future. It was an abandoned rail line for decades. Too bad you are grumpy about the Bentway. The Bentway has interesting programming and is one of the things that makes life better in the area.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Oxford is already planning a deck between the convention centre (to be rebuilt) and Rogers. They must have some rights already. That leaves the segment west of Blue Jays way for the City. I think it would be advantageous to do both at the same time.
  14. Alex L

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

I don't think that anyone realistically expects the park to be complete in less than 20 years. The issues you pointed out are higher priorities. A lot of those will get federal and provincial money, Ford or no Ford. And even if you had the full amount to complete the housing capital backlog, you...

    Toronto Toronto | Mirvish Village (Honest Ed's Redevelopment) | 85.04m | 26s | Westbank | Henriquez Partners

That is one massive excavation. Does anyone know where the soil went? Leslie spit?

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

Property taxes, development charges, capital budget. That's how most parks get built. That isn't nothing. Spread out over 20 years or so, it's doable.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

The train station was the 1873 union station. That's where that comes from. So the 1884 date you say, makes sense.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

That train station (the second Union) actually wasn't built until 1873. You have to wonder how they did that illustration/photo, being before airplanes. You can see by then there was already no water around the current site. And The Esplanade was already filled with train tracks, to the south of...

    Toronto Toronto | Verge Condominiums | 60.3m | 17s | RioCan Living | Turner Fleischer

Maybe there is a need there TOO. But this building complex doesn't add anything to the neighbourhood except more persons.

Is there any office space going in this project? It seems to be just residential and retail. A missed opportunity if they did not put any in.
