Tory will "win" all of the debates simply because English is his first language, and he speaks well.

LOL, no... but I guess this is common on the campaign.

2014 Municipal Election: Toronto Mayoral Race

I almost liked Tory, but his supporters on Facebook are some of the biggest twats around. There is one guy working on his campaign who cannot intelligently defend Tory's policies, but is great at saying stuff like, "OUR next Mayor, John Tory".

Not true. Wellesley-Magill Park (off Homewood, between Sherbourne and Jarvis, North of Wellesley) is full of London Planes and almost all of them are doing very well. That said, they are not in an area that would be affected by salt treatment in the winter.

I think they need to be weary about backlash. Put shirts on and be quiet. Get in the frame with your signs. If you can't, start yelling again.

How much are all the salaries in the room X 6 hours? Taxpayer money wasted.

You must have missed the Toronto Gay Hockey League's float, complete with mock ice rink + nets, penalty box, and zamboni.

I was interested to see how many businesses would close immediately after Pride.... Any bets on how long "Maison" will last in the old Vic Pub spot?

I hope the $11,000 umbrella thing doesn't discourage WT from doing something ambitious. This is the EXACT sort of project (location, use etc) that is ripe for an iconic piece of architecture. One can only envision Australian versions of DMW and the Fords railing against the approval of the...

Yeah, it was bad. Cops had to show up and basically form a line to keep people off the middle lanes. I attended Starry Night in Barbara Hall Park, and I must say that the park handled an event like this beautifully. It is a lot more dynamic now. T'was a fun night!

Any truth to the rumour that the mural will depict two lesbians buying rainbow-coloured lumber at Home Depot?

I was making more of a general comment... The subway lines you speak of are already over-crowded, and you are adding more riders to it. The war on the car only makes sense when you provide and improve other alternatives.

People don't expect more roads, but they do expect other transportation infastructure (ie. public transit and bike lanes) to increase, proportionally, with the population.
