    Toronto Toronto | W Hotel Toronto | ?m | 9s | Larco | a—A

I lived there in the 80's & 90's, best apartment I ever had, except no balconies. The Concourse was a dump - the retail section at the north/east end was empty for a decade, a dreary food court beyond that and pink & purple neon running along recessed areas of the mall ceiling, when it worked...

    Toronto Toronto | 33 Bloor East | ?m | 17s | Epic | WZMH

Old?! I lived across the street when the previous lowrise/subway entrance was demolished and this built, late 80's/early 90's. I guess it is old, and I guess I am too now! This update is sensational, retail can be successful if it caters to all the new apartments and condo residents that are...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

You are inside my head, I've been thinking that for years. I also think it's time to call the CNE quits. It's become a sad excuse for a kind of rite of passage for young parents to slag their kids around to play mind-numbing games and get onto ancient rides just as my parents did for me & my...

Wow, it's really turned down then, I thought it was off for the last 3 nights!

    577 Yonge Street

I wasn't observant enough to note what bad shape this building's exterior is in. It reminds me of the 571 Jarvis St. mansion, where Casey House expanded to. They pulled off a miracle there, hopefully here too. 571 Jarvis, pre-restoration.

Yes, a few calls to the Councillor's office will eventually see the screen dimmed after a certain time at night.

The light is bouncing off the CF building, then boucning off that and creating shadows & flicker on my wall. Blinds closed now, and I'm on Wellesley St.!

Oops! My bad. I mixed up Teahouse at 501 Yonge. Still playing catch-up after being away for a while!

Kudos to Cresford, they are doing really great stuff downtown. The curtainwall looks great here, and I love how they mixed it up with the parking podium.

    Downtown Yonge

Yonge Street from about Gerrard to Queen was seedier in the 1970's than the 1980's, but I never felt it to be unsafe, through I was a dumb young teenager in the later 70's. I worked at the Cineplex Eaton Centre for all of 1985. After midnight shows I'd grab a slice from The Big Slice (which...

    Queen's Park North Revitalization

Old UT'ers may remember my love for our parks, it's been hell staying out of Queen's Park - but I wanted to experience it once it was done. Alias, I couldn't wait any longer, and I entered yesterday. There's still a lot of fence up, but the improvements are clearly visible. Queen's Park looks...

    Toronto Toronto | JAC Condos | 108.5m | 34s | Graywood | Turner Fleischer

Confirmed, the first fire in 2016 didn't finish off the 1865 mansion, the fire overnight did.

Smoke, sparks and some flame seen and lots of fire trucks from my POV. Whenever I walk by I see it's a cinch to get in there, I fear this has been hit, and it's gone. 12:50am. Edit: this is looking south on Jarvis behind the Parkside Student Residence, formally, The Primrose Hotel.

    Toronto Toronto | 572 Church Street | 44.5m | 12s | Fieldgate | Arcadis

This is fine, I like the scale and the setbacks. It'll be a boutique type building, somewhat similar as the Alexus at Alexander & Church.

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

Much larger, and so much better than the previous light polluter. Now to get rid of those ridiculous faux fans and then real progress will have been made.

    Toronto Toronto | The Gloucester on Yonge | 147.82m | 44s | Concord Adex | a—A

It's so simple really, mixing up the design of one podium. It looks very promising, and even better in person.

    Church-Wellesley Village

I'm certain I read that Councillor Wong-Tam was to help Fly find a new dance space somewhere in or near the Village, but that was several years ago before this project was delayed.

The cows, but the frogs are fun. Cows, pigs, alpaca or lawyers lounging in bronze in front of a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe tower will always win!

    Toronto Toronto | Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

This is another huge MOD success. I still marvel at what they did at Yonge & St. Joseph, and the legacy continues here with a great looking tower, restoration of the old Commerce Bank and land donation to Massey Hall.

    Toronto Toronto | Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

This has turned out pretty well. The star of the building is obviously the west facing side, it's very dramatic coming in on the Gardiner. The rooftop light feature was a real nice surprise, it kind of completes the building. A good addition to the area.
