motion to consider renaming st lawrence market to serengeti market

i really think they should put a fountain in there. ive noticed the park is pretty sparsely populated a lot of the time. people love fountains

Do we know if there is going to be signage on the building saying St Lawrence Market? would help to give it more character esp. if they use font inspired by the old sign

random thought i've never understood the appeal of yonge-bloor. its one of my least favorite places in the city. ugly architecture, lack of greenery, little in terms of interesting shops, the most pretentious people, 🤷‍♂️

yea its looking washed out. hopeful that black curtainwall trim and flashing will contrast well, but the mass of grey on top will just wash it out even more in all likelihood ;(

the neighborhood is starting to feel more busy, presumably because of the rental buildings starting to lease up. the grocery store really is a game changer for making the area feel fully livable. i think this is going to be one of the most desirable areas of the city in a few years once these...

Mutual street is turning into a pretty interesting urban canyon. Also the amount of change happening to this area of Queen east is staggering. There's so much development

yea the unpainted parts almost look intentional, but im not sure what the intention is lol tbh i dont hate the red. the warehouse building looks great with the repainted lettering and new windows

two rectancles with no design to speak of and an arbitrary minecraft pattern slapped on. these will basically be in the waterfront view for the rest of our lifetimes and thats what we accept for architecture

this has to be one of the coolest infrastructure projects in North America. so great to see it come together after years and years. it's going to be a very unique urban space when complete. something for us to be proud of

thankfully this tower should grab most attention from the waterfront view and distract eyes away from the atrocities committed by Daniels and, to a lesser degree, Menkes

is it true that pinnacle funds with all equity? i heard that somewhere before but seems wild for a project this big

I dunno, distillery, regent park, canary all are basically in a grocery desert. Definitely shouldnt have taken this long. but good that its finally open now!

I mean it shouldnt take like 8 years to open a f'ing grocery store in a new neighborhood. it should be like the first thing that opens there. its incredibly dumb from all angles. this store will make tons of money. people are begging for it. just open the damn store

probably a bit higher but still cheaper than uber eats :D
