Ugh, brutal. They took up three floors and the offices were gorgeous. I can't even imagine a preference to work in a nondescript suburban office building with a beautiful view of a parking lot.

Isn't APEGA in Rice Howard Place? Are they leaving downtown? They put a lot of money into their offices not too many years ago.

Two massive murals on the blank walls of the Icons would do wonders.

    Downtown

$$$ I spoke with a couple of people there who are not at all thrilled with the idea and have valid reasons not to be, but I don't suspect they will have any say on whether or not it happens. I'm assuming the city could turn them down though.

    Downtown

I noticed on my drive to work last week that they had some new lights at the top of at least two of the four corners of the building. Looked somewhat similar to the type of lighting on Edmonton House with the light directed down the blank corners of the building. It was not very noticeable so I...

    Downtown

They plan (want) to build a parkade there, so I suspect it will be parking for a lot longer than just a decade. Hopefully some thought goes into design and the lower level can at least have retail or some amenities for students instead of just a wall of cars.

I've always thought the Boardwalk building would be great for something like this.

I drive by this stop almost every day and it is definitely heavily used, unfortunately not always by people waiting for a bus. I'm sure the people who do use it to wait for a bus won't be thrilled—the wind can be brutal around there some days.

I think it's both hilarious and sad that the most exciting topic in this thread is about a seasonal board game store opening. Don't get me wrong, any new retail downtown is a positive and I love to see small businesses take a chance on DT but...man.

    Miscellaneous

This must be why they removed the LED light bars from the building. I was wondering.

Yep, you’re right. Got the location mixed up.

A comedy club here would be great. Less noise, less rowdy with options for before and after food/drinks nearby.

Instead of closing altogether, Amy should move Chicken For Lunch here. One can dream.

Weren’t these spaces part of a planned, or hopeful, food court at one point? I also thought there were more than just two bays, but guess I was wrong.

    Edmonton | ICE District Block IJ | ?m | ?s | ICE District Prop. | Next Architecture

Yeah. They inexplicably put the team training and medical facilities in the SW corner of the building at street level facing 104. This is the reason for the entire stretch of windows being covered in vinyl graphics. This would have been an incredible location for a bar or even the Oilers store...
