    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

I doubt many of those trees will survive the installation of underground utilities (see Hawrelak park). I know that several in the pic are Manitoba maples which are just tree-weeds.

    LRT Safety

how many transit police officers would it take to have 2 on each station platform and 2 on each train? I remember being in NYC during a time of heightened terrorist threats and the transit police there had card tables at each subway entrance (for the purpose of bag checking) manned by 2...

    Edmonton | 105 Avenue (Columbia Avenue) Streetscape | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

anyone coming in from the west end and going to MacEwan will probably take 112 or 111 st south from 107 ave. to access parking, res and the U's loading dock area.

    East Junction | 86m | 25s | Regency Developments | DER + Associates

I dunno, seems everyone has had ample opportunity to knock Regency and this, their latest project. I agree the the building is somewhat "disappointing" on an architectural esthetic level but hey, lets put this one to rest and move on.

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

The argument that HSR offers cheap, reliable cargo transport needs to account for, say, autonomous truck convoys in their own dedicated lanes. Also, a HSR could only go to one central terminal requiring a huge warehouse and distribution systems requiring, well, trucks for the last kilometer...

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

I gladly confess my ignorance in all things high speed rail, but questions arise. Is there actually a need for it? I mean, it would serve an extremely small client base and even then would still need to compete with air. Why concentrate on a 19th century technology? Are people actually...

    Edmonton | Iron Horse Line / Station Park | ?m | 6s | Beljan Development | Hodgson Schilf Evans

I think it's a good idea as well. Unfortunately, the rail companies are notoriously difficult to get them to cede property they own. If there's a cost to it, I suspect CP will pass; what's their incentive? (hint, they don't do anything just to be nice) I understand that this is a marshaling yard...
