Did anyone hear about Steve Wong, the young man who was diagnosed with gastric cancer with a good prognosis? He tragically died on Friday, 16 weeks after his diagnosis. His final days were extremely painful as the tumour grew and fractured his spine. He never got an oncologist appointment...

    Edmonton | Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I am sure any city would drool at their mayor having the ear of the prime minister.

Urban National Park Option for the River Valley

I love this Alberta abdication of its core roles. It strengthens our direct Edmonton - federal connection. We are basically the Edmonton Territory, Canada's 4th territory, as things should be.

Down with elite international design competitions. Long live equitable community engagement!

    Edmonton | 105 Avenue (Columbia Avenue) Streetscape | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Imagine renting an apartment that first faced a road only to find it now faced a park. What luck!

    Edmonton | Bateman Lands Mid-Rise | 34m | 8s | Bateman Properties | Next Architecture

A lot of buildings built just before the Pandemic required significant street-level commercial. Now that much retail has shifted online, a lot of apartment building owners are changing those retail units to residential or office space.

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

We need to put all our roads on diets and beautify with thousands of kilometers of sidewalks.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Laurel is also the top neighborhood in the city for multi family households and new basement suites. That area honestly needs much more public services!

I hope he doesn't spend the next 3 years trying to divorce from the national NDP and instead focus on the issues affecting all Albertans. Polls show NDP and UCP tied. Last thing we need is divisive infighting.

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Agreed. Edmonton is giving away too much free land in the suburbs to make urban renewal possible.

I think they only show the worst of Edmonton. There are a lot of young males for whom it is their only news source. I think that can bias views. I have heard they have been threatened with lawsuits for spreading lies and defamation.

How can we improve the discourse around all the great improvements currently underway in Edmonton when most people get their news these days from YEGWave, which is basically a scam account trying to appear legit?

    Commuter & Regional Rail

Sus. Shouldn't engagement on such a big project be led by a public agency, not costly for-profit consultants?
  15. T

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Because it's all in car centric suburbs?

    Misc. Parks and Greenspace Projects

This is false. The provincial and federal governments rely big time on other income sources than taxes that cities can't use, such as foreign investments, international tariffs, and such.

    Capital Line LRT

Twin Brooks Station is part of the funding agreement with the 2 other orders of government. Cut TB and it loses 67% of the funding. Generally would rather like the 1.34 billion spent on the Northwest extension.

    LRT Expansion Planning

Cartmell 's continuous beating of this dead horse proves without a doubt that he is unfit to be a mayor. He will languish as the lame duck grand senator-councillor of pihêsiwin for the rest of his political career.

Don't respond. They are trolling us.

I and many others on this forum would argue they are being very productive because they all agree on a common vision, as opposed to Calgary's absolutely insanely toxic council.
