    Municipal Politics

Trust me, the current mayor has a very strong grip on City Council.

    Municipal Politics

Exactly. Those cities are now going to hell in a hand basket. I have heard they are all foolishly trying to bring in free parking downtown. Not good places to emulate.

The north Blatchford station needs to have opened yesterday.

Reality check: Sohi was elected with 45% of the vote. Only 35% of voters actually showed up. 45% of 35% is 18% of all eligible voters. In other words, his support level is unchanged from 2021.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

Why not require Leduc to provide a bus? I bet those are underused.

    Alberta Politics

Yes but there are no competitive seats in rural Alberta. So no benefit for UCP in our winner take all election system.
  13. T

    Alberta Politics

CBC is reporting on a new poll by Janet Brown that shows NDP and UCP statistically tied: 46% to 48%. This would actually be an NDP win as UCP support has increased in the rural areas and decreased in Calgary!

    LRT Expansion Planning

Accelerating the Plan would strengthen our case for asking for more money from the provincial and federal governments.
  15. T

    LRT Expansion Planning

With Edmonton's ultra fast population growth, do you think the City should reopen the transit plan to accelerate expansion of the LRT and BRT networks?

    Troll. Trolly troll troll. Troll.

    Misc. Transportation Projects

BRT is desperately needed on 137 Avenue. However the corridor doesn't have the space to fit everyone to be the needed complete corridor. In order to preserve trees and sidewalks, and give buses priority, car lanes will absolutely need conversion to bus lanes.
  18. T

    Commuter & Regional Rail

Reece, can you come to Edmonton to force open the north Blatchford station?!
  19. T

    Misc. Parks and Greenspace Projects

Chinatown does need public investment. Unfortunately they will never cooperate with the City until the "right" politicians are on City Council.
  20. T

    Misc. Transportation Projects

Alberta Government has been saying it's a priority for years. It is. Until it suddenly isn't.
