569 King E is coming down now, newsletter from Streetcar says that it will take 4 weeks and after the initial work they will start taking down 52 Sumach.

FWIW, Toronto Hydro put those orange utility wire protectors up in front of 569 King E. over the weekend so I would imagine that they are actually about to get along to demo the existing building soon (the streetcar sign was removed a few weeks back).

The building to right of the last picture above is still there - Its the loft building that the "Corktown District" building at 569 King east will abut, the building in the foreground are the habitat for humanity towns that were thrown up a few years back.

Regarding 569 if you look at the city planning documents as referenced by UNKOW above the distance between the 2 buildings looks to be 6+ metres. I don't know where things landed with the arrangements between Percy Street Residents and Streetcar but originally they were talking about not...
