I’m not sure you will see prices rise rapidly as there is still a lot of inventory in the market to cushion low prices.
As a seller I’d like to be wrong. I just don’t see even holding a vacant unit for a year as being worth it.
Also, I suppose the reason I'm scratching my head about the opinions on this building is because I've lived in quite a few cities and think this tower looks alot like what you see being built in Surrey, New West, and Burnaby - whilst also being pretty damn well insulated based off what I've been...
Eh. I'm not really too worried about brownie points on some message board. I typically stick to my opinions and convictions whether they are 'glass half full" or not. My sentiments come from having talking to my renters over the past 9 years. I'm interested in what's important to them in housing...
Somebody at Langham 20 years ago found a screaming deal on railing at Uncle Weiners Surplus Liquidation and scooped it ALL up.
Edit: for those who are wondering that is a legit liquidation place on the west side and freaking awesome. lol
Gotta remember that these units are serving purchasers and renters who are looking for function over form. If it means maintaining affordable prices in the core and getting more people into the area, I'm all for it.
The province and the Feds really don't see eye to eye on a lot of matters and there's a bit of hostility on both sides. Doesn't really surprise me that they're not putting a face on for the public and I actually kinda appreciate that.
I know I've been getting alot of notices from Shaw regarding utilities relocation. It's most likely prep work for the VLRT-W but I also believe the Shaw fiber trunk runs N-S through the back alley towards Jasper.
If so, impacted 3rd parties have been notified of the park's impact, and are...
Thanks Chaz, I'm really hoping to sell because I intend on buying an SFD afterwards. I had to put a significant amount of renos into the unit and though I believe ya, I can't really risk damaging the place's pristine condition.
Thanks for the thought though!
Ian you may be the only person I know on any message board that does something as benign as sharing information for others to enjoy and get attacked for it by a handful of other posters who don't like that you used a secondary source.
Thank God these people didn't grade my papers in university...
That's what my realtor has stated too. He said I'm getting lots of online activity out and he anticipated a very active sellers market that comes early in March.
So far it's been slow. A couple walkthroughs for me but that was kind of expected considering I listed in mid Jan.
Airbnb is a great idea! I never considered that.
Gives you some flexibility and doesn’t commit you to anything while you find a job. Good luck on your search, with initiative and hard work, you’ll find something. Great, that’s the Alberta Way.
No. You need to have employment and employment for two years with most mortgage financiers and a strong credit score before they take a risk on lending.
If you have 25,000 up front I’m sure you could speak with a rental company about cash up front policies on a six month lease. Be aware if you...
I will be frank and honest. This is very difficult. I wouldn’t personally rent to someone unemployed or on any form of income assistance because of the risks that are involved as a property owner - to which there are a variety.
If I got responses like that towards my unit I would politely...
Mines a wood frame 2b1ba 960 sq ft with the big balcony. The final sale price should be 215-220 and the realtor says the renos I did should create a quick sale. It’s a pretty solid investment property at that price. And profitable too. So Fingers crossed!
