124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

Diced announced on Instagram that they will be closing at some point in August. They didn't last long!

Doesn't Cidex own that spot? Or am I mistaken?

    Edmonton Oilers

That's exactly the sort of tweet I'd expect from Rishaug, who seems more concerned with maintaining good relationships with Oilers management than providing critical coverage of anything.

I don't get why we would hire this guy, even BEYOND his sexual assault mismanagement. He was not exactly a stellar GM!

No clue. Their Instagram post didn't include any obvious hints.

124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

In other 124 Street news: -Fox Burger announced on Instagram recently that they will be opening a location on 124th street -Signage has been up for a few weeks saying that Sushi Wave will be taking over either the Passport or Cosmos space (I forget which is which, sorry -- they seemed kind of...

124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

Parcel & Prose was maddening. I've tried to go there several times over the past year to buy a greeting card (or whatever), only to find it unexpectedly closed during regular business hours. The owner would post a message on social media saying something like: "I'm sorry, I'm too overwhelmed...

    Downtown Real Estate

^No, but several 25 basis point drops might start to move the needle.

    Downtown Real Estate

Yeah. I know the market for condos in Edmonton has been rough for a while now, but I have to imagine that there may be a few potential buyers on the sidelines waiting for a some more BOC rate cuts, which should continue (hopefully) over the next 12 months. If I were a buyer, I know I'd probably...

    Alberta Politics

Convenient (and disgusting) how she loosened the old rules to permit this type of personal enrichment. I'm old enough to remember when she would have cried bloody murder if Alison Redford pulled this type of stunt.

I do, and have for 10+ years. Currently on a hybrid schedule, though.

Obj3cts is a cool space. I enjoyed a ridiculously large cookie and coffee from them yesterday. The home decor section is cute but everything was wildly out of budget for me. (A $1200 chess set, $350 small desk lamps, etc.)

^Yeah, David A is referring to the gym that was across from Spork Chek's second level. I believe it was a World Gym at one point, among other things. Was a popular lunchtime workout spot for a lot of my coworkers over the years. I'm assuming the newer Good Life in Commerce has filled that void...

This was the evolution of my feelings on July 1st:

They make my favorite Americano of all the downtown coffee shops. A nice addition to the neighborhood, particularly with the loss of Credo a few blocks away.

^Holy shit, I was just about to say that the last time I was there, I saw a mouse, too. I never returned.

    Edmonton Oilers

Look, I don't love every signing that Jeff Jackson made today, but at least the questionable ones were for low money (Perry & J. Brown), and locking up Arvidsson, Skinner, and Henrique for $10m is some nice business. The D is still a bit of a mess, but Jackson has given this team the...

    The Riverhawks

^I was there! Felt very well attended (even more so than the above picture implies) and was a great time. Probably the best bang for your buck sports entertainment in Edmonton.

    Edmonton | The Jameson | 53.95m | 17s | Open Sky | Acton Ostry

The fact that Clearshades thinks that Paul Kane is used only for "dog runs" makes me think that Clearshades might be thinking of the wrong park entirely. Baffling comments.
