that building looks like it'd take a lot to fix up and i don't think loblaws has the money right now. for example, "In the meantime, plans to open new stores have been put on hold until 2009, Weston said in response to a question." http://www.thestar.com/Business/article/301624

    Simcoe St. Underpass & Extension

i could easily be wrong, but i seem to recall someone (adam vaughan?) saying that this passage will only be for pedestrians and bikes.

    CityPlace: South Linear Park

it's not great, but there's a little-used bike path from york to spadina on the south side of lakeshore (after spadina it turns into a sidewalk, which is also little-used).

the arts - toronto vs montreal

the lady in question is a musician. my friend's wife. it's not much of a concern to me, except that i was curious. thank you for your observations, anarchosocialist. i've heard similar comments, that is, that toronto's art scene is vibrant, first rate, though somewhat less conspicuous...

the arts - toronto vs montreal

thanks for the replies. :) anything specific i could ask her to check out? maybe it'd help her to appreciate toronto more.

the arts - toronto vs montreal

i don't really like the versus debates, but i've a question that i really don't know much about. i was talking to someone yesterday who has lived in both cities. she said that the art scene was better in montreal than toronto. is this true? if so, how? her comments were likely specifically...

HELP! Let's go to the EX!

tacky (but good tacky). old (but in a timeless sort of way). fun (not like ha-ha fun, more like hanging out fun). i don't play many, but i like the games. i think i just like walking around. i know it's a bit expensive to just "walk around", but there's a nice atmosphere. oh...

i passed by the park this morning. it's fenced off. it doesn't look close to being finished. there was a picture of the park in today's post... south linear park makes its "debut"

very true. thank you. i wonder how the rom will do. opinions seem very divided.

    2007 Pugs

will the rom be in next year's awards or does the building have to be built from scratch?

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

i agree, but there is a bigger issue here. what is the best course of action for toronto and how do we decide it? a particular resident's subjective assessment of what is "loud" is one factor amongst many others.

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

i understand. what i'm saying is that because of the more diverse mixture of people in the neighbourhood by the island airport, the overall average is being skewed by a few very rich people (for example, the guys that own the $1,000,000-plus penthouses, 401 queens quay, in king's landing...
