Murano Condos (Lanterra Developments) - Real Estate -

It's a small 2br suite at 750 sqft. However, even in the spring, the 1br's were selling for (not exactly the same as "worth", I know) around $260,000.... I find many of the high rises in this area are filled with student renters given the proximity to ryerson and uoft. But perhaps the...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

You can't paint all condos with the same brush. What about location, location, location (and other factors) - these might make a difference. I'm not saying condos in prime locations won't be affected or will even behave much differently than average, but there are material differences...

    Another layout opinion

Looks to be an inside corner unit which won't get a lot of sun. Invest in some nice light fixtures (I personally don't like too many windows).

Downtown condo market: Is it worth it to buy for one year?

Generally no but it depends on the market and how much your unit will appreciate -- and this is difficult to predict over one year. Some people have made handsome profits after 1-2 years but this is far, far from guaranteed. Some people move out after 2 years precisely because they've seen...

Murano Condos (Lanterra Developments) - Real Estate -

Agree - That part of bay street is very popular with med students and residents due to its proximity to the hospitals on university and also st. mike's. some carry a lot of student loans, but rent can be justified relative to loans, tuition, expected future income, and convenience/lifestyle...

    Financial District Investment Property Advice

Perhaps you can consider the upper end of PATH - at the Eaton Centre. The Opus/Pantages is by the Eaton Centre, but not connected. My friend rented there so I don't know about ownership there. But pretty convenient location.

Housing Hell: Our most vulnerable living in deplorable conditions

I agree, in my experience, people with strong family support do much, much better. Without family support, a lot of times things just spiral out-of-control. Social assistance is helpful, but oftentimes cannot match family support (not talking just about housing, finances).

    Condo soundproofing

It takes getting used to, and when I'm keyed up already these miscellaneous background noises really bother me. I don't think you can get away from it if you are going for "urban" and apartment living. I'm not originally from the GTA and used to lived in a detached suburban house on a quiet...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

I don't know what direction the unit is facing or what the view will be like, but that terrace could probably overcome many deficiencies with the unit!

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

You really dislike interior bedrooms. Have you lived in one before? Or is it just in theory that you object? I've never lived in one before, but when I examine how I use my condo - I don't actually use the bedroom much during the day. I'm even starting to think it might not be so bad...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

That's actually a fairly common/standard floorplan in some newer condos. I agree that it is a good layout that minimizes wasted space.

smooth ceilings ! Are they worth it ?

Off topic again, but I know that some condos require a certain % of the unit be covered with carpet/area rugs. I'm sure this is not routinely enforced, but I've seen it stated in some condo rules/regulations.

    City-TV & OMNI-TV's H.Q. (formerly Torch, Quadrangle)

That would be great for the area. I've always loved some of the squares in Europe that have grand hotels surrounding the area with lovely street level restaurants and patios.

    Toronto Toronto | Murano | ?m | 45s | Lanterra | a—A

The trees in front of Murano along Bay are not looking good. I wonder if they'll make it through the winter. Some of the trees further up Bay look good and healthy, so there is hope. The little lawn at the north entrance looks great - I was absurdly surprised and happy to see grass!

    Noisy Condo Tenants

In some condos, it's in the status certificate that a certain % has to be covered by carpeting/rugs. I'm not sure how they enforce this regularly, but it might make it easier in cases like this. I'm not used to the noises of condo living either yet. I guess it can never be completely...

    Car-free Condo?

Maybe the media and the city are making it more "controversial" than it actually is or needs to be. Lots of people are living downtown already without a car. As I said, most of the people I know are living this way, and in fact have been so for years with no plans to change. I agree - if you...

    Car-free Condo?

That's how I live, so don't really have a problem with the concept. Just wondering what others thought here as most people I know in real life feel the same way as I do. I wonder if the roundabout will be off University....at least with no parking garage, this would limit the amount of traffic...

    Car-free Condo?

Would you buy a unit in a condo that has no visitor parking and no resident parking, although there would be 9 auto share spots? Is having a parking spot less advantageous than it used to be? You save money by not having parking. And I think the article is correct in regards to more and...

Does anyone recommend buying a condo at CityPlace?

I thought they were only planning to have PATH ultimately connect to College Park and Aura (not yet built). I always thought the PATH system currently ends at Bay/Dundas - Atrium on Bay. I didn't think it went further north to College Park. If I'm wrong, I'd like to go through the section...
