I'm not really liking this site plan. They would be better building a 4-6 storey podium with retail all along Dundas and portions of Conferderation with two or three condos in the rear. Buy out the 4 properties on King & Confederation, and build 4 storeys executive townhomes along Confederation...

There is no insulation because it's not needed. The insulation will be installed on the inside. The way they're attaching the stones is similar to a brick veneer house. You never put any insulation between the brick and the plywood that's attached to the frame of the house.

In any case, median or not, seems like some misplanning.

Now I see it as well. You can see it in the distances between the columns and the outer edge of the floor plate.

It's even worse on a hazy day. From a 10-15 km distance, you can barely make it out.

I believe the core of the building will not have a twist at all - it will be a cylinder from top to bottom. The twist will be provided once they add in the balconies.

I hope the Canadian version gets released within a couple of weeks ...

Well, things are up and down for Alderwood Plaza. The Pharmacy and the Walk in Clinic have closed, the Hardware shop owner is retiring and closing the business, and there are at least one or two other vacant stores in the plaza.

Yes, shame to see Stonegate go, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. We have another one of these 50's mall in the Alderwood Plaza at Evans & the 427. Can't wait to see that razed and rebuilt.

The building is beautiful, unfortunately because of the choice of glass colour, it's virtually invisible from a distance. Very little overall impact on the skyline from far away. Sometimes when driving on the Gardiner, you don't even realize it's there.

There is an interesting staircase to nowhere on the south portion of the building, near the parking lot. Does anyone know what it was going to be used for?

Our mortgage is at 1.5% now. Hopefully it will stay this way into 2010.

The building would look marginally better if it got a slight makeover.
