There is now a sign beside the loading door at Lakeshore/Bathurst for Carswell Construction Limited with a phone number for the Project Manager. It looks fairly new...it wasn't there in March when the hoarding went up (according to a video I found then). Also, there was mention of a Loblaws...

That is interesting that they are having a Loblaws in the Podium of that building. Does anyone have anymore info?

It looks like they are beginning to pull everything apart. They started yesterday and were breaking apart that massive concrete wall/tunnel/viaduct and some of the concrete walls in the center. They seem to have replaced the excavator with a small fisher-price version instead (yes, I know they...

Does this demolition company normally do many demolitions? I noticed that they seem to be lacking some key pieces of equipment - mainly large grapples/claws on their excavators. The high-reach excavator only seems to have a little pry bar type attachment. Watching it, it seemed to take much...

City of mass construction: Toronto’s unstoppable condos show no signs of slowing down

With regards to the lack of infrastructure improvements - I notice many people now walking to work. I used to take transit to school/work everyday, but have since realised that it is only an extra 10 mins to walk vs. taking transit - not to mention how much more reliable walking is. So, I...

Will Today's Condos be Around 150 Years From Now?

One question that has always boggled my mind is how the CN Tower would be taken down when the time comes. It would be a very tricky structure to bring down. Any ideas?

That 5000 sq ft of retail is certainly needed in that area. Hopefully a decent restaurant gets built there.

Interesting that in the rendering that there is still a one-story structure under the Gardiner. I am assuming it would be parking...

Did I see that a TD Canada Trust is going to be opening in the bottom of Phase 2? Does anyone have any additional information about this?

Some more pictures from yesterday. It looks like it was an old building as they begin to excavate around it.

They did the same thing on Fleet Street. They spent a summer with a few closures to do smaller fixes, and then began pulling it up as soon as the Ex was done. I don't really think it is an indication of a much longer wait...TTC Operations probably decided that the slowdown needed to be dealt...

Notice some kind of brick beside the Pylon. Maybe this is a remnant from Fort York??? Notice the cement dividers all the way along. Does anyone know what was on this site many many years ago?

It looks like they have been doing some more digging this week and it appears as though they found some old foundations. They also hit some water...I will try and get some pics, but if anyone else is in the area, don't forget your camera!

It is actually a ways from their Queens Quay store. 3.5km to be exact. I live in the Fort York area and this is badly needed, especially as there is very little within walking distance. It is also very inconvenient to get to the Jarvis location and takes about 30 mins without a car - you have...

This morning, when I was coming in on the streetcar, it appeared like they were taking down the backboard on the hoarding (west side of building) that was put up last week. There also hasn't been any visible change in the last week - is this really going to start? It might be another false...
