Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

If the OL is to go north to Jane st. I believe the best route would be for it to go more west and after High Park follow South Kingsway and Jane. Roncesvalles already has a streetcar which will connect this neighborhood to both line 2 and OL. Keeping the streetcar tracks here also might make...

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Not a bad proposal! To me this proposal makes equal sense as for OL to go North after High Park along South Kingsway and then Jane. On the one hand, Queensway has a lot of potential for population growth (why your suggestion makes perfect sense). On the other hand, Jane corridor is already...

Amazing work! Would be great to keep this same perspective in the following years, so we can see how many new developments were a direct result of the new Ontario Line.

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

I absolutely agree with you on this! So strange that this line didn't come back...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

I believe that any Jane rapid transit should go more south (possibly using South Kingsway) in order to connect to Waterfront West "LRT" (or Ontario Line if it continues west along the rail corridor). This would give riders more options, especially to connect from/to proposed Park Lawn GO...

    Toronto Toronto | 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

If this city really wants to use go as rapid transit, than we would need stations at Swansea and Roncesvalles, while doing 5min or better. However, I would prefer for Ontario line to go to the new Park Lawn station, but that might be just wishful thinking...

I really like this reply from @Amare when it comes to density in HBS. Maybe we can start a new thread for the most dense future neighborhoods in GTA.

Some GTA Aerials by Tim MacDonald (Covid19 induced Boredom)

I really like your arial photos! I have found this one on the net a while ago, which I really like, as 3 skylines can be seen. Looks like it was shot with a telefoto lens from a great distance. Would love, if it were possible, for it to be recreated with all new developments.

    100 Metre List

Nice! Thanks for letting me know. Last time I checked we were a bit behind... That's why I love UrbanToronto!

    100 Metre List

Well, that's just it... Because of the different zoning approach in the USA, there are no buildings in Illinois taller than 150m (which most consider an official cut-off for a building to be a skyscraper). The tallest building outside of Chicago proper, but within the Chicagoland, would be...

    100 Metre List

That's what I said in the post above, even said what the are is 😊 At the end I just said that I personally like the term Chicagoland and that I would like something similar instead of GGH. Of course, this is purely wishful thinking 😊

    100 Metre List

Thanks for the latest summary! Really enjoyed reading it! In my mind, when comparing Chicago and Toronto, regarding any metric, what makes more sense (at least to me) is to compare Chicagoland (28,120km2 in area) to Greater Golden Horseshoe (31,562km2 in area). But obviously, it's not easy to...

I really like how transparent the existing buildings are, so the future ones are clearly visible! Good job!

Thanks for your response! I'm very curious about this one... It's interesting that after a lot of online search, I couldn't find anything other than it has been abandoned for a long time and that some people had complained about it. Also, the rentals next door look like they have seen better...

    Toronto Toronto | 34 Southport | 99m | 29s | State Building Group | Richmond Architects

Does anyone know why is there an abandoned building close to this project at 157 Riverside Dr? Will this be redeveloped at some point? Apologies for asking this question here, but thought that people interested in this project would know more about this area. Feel free to move it where it's...

Shame that it's so hard for pedestrians to enjoy this art (safely). Just showing how car centric Toronto is...

Amazing visualization! So interesting to see difference in current and proposed density on subway line 1 and 2. I never understood our urban planning, where high density nodes are being built far away from rapid transit, but that little transit infrastructure we do have is underutilized (not...

Couldn't agree more. Ideally, Ontario line should run along Queensway and meet extended Line 2 here. Building, extending highways is not an option!
