The terracotta tiles are great. Too.many cold materials used on podiums in Calgary.

This turned out really crisp, if a little bit monolithic.

Yeah this has way too many different shapes and sizes of window / balcony. It's kind of visual chaos... Don't mind the massing or the colour, but those arches have to go.

That's a lot of linear feet of mullion.. gonna look way too busy, in my opinion. And a bitch to clean, I imagine.

    Well that's depressing

This is fine. The surface parking is 100% necessary and expected but still a bummer. Many of these units will look over a parking lot. Pretty par for the course, lived in a condo like this a decade ago; people would sit in their cars in the parking lot late at night talking on their Bluetooth/...

Interesting choice... Can anyone think of another steel residential building done recently? Seems fairly uncommon here.

    Cars, Pedestrians, Cyclists and Transit

Imagine being so offended by sarcasm that you launch into a condescending tone-policing lecture about it. " When you grow up little kid you'll also be able to have a logical, serious conversation about how every single right of way in a city needs access for personal vehicles" The city is...

Great, now let's house them too.

Love that the recommended plan is active modes only. Doubt the city will have the guts to do it though, we'll get stuck with the alternate plan.

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

Sure, no disagreement trains are absolutely better than cars for long-term environmental preservation.

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

Yeah people who practice law and care about the environment are the worst. 🙄 Imagine writing this sentence and then being like "yes, this is a good take, I'll post it"

Case in point. I can't believe there are real people that actually think that. How is it that this kind of nonsense line is continuously regurgitated? Do people not actually live in the city who say this stuff? Are they the most fragile human alive? What person is honestly incapable of...

People unwilling to walk 10min... This is why we can't have nice things.

Oh no, someone added that "$20,000 Cash back" on the right side of the first image in mspaint after the original design had already been exported as a jpg... couldn't match the red color or the font. Looks pretty hasty and disorganized.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

If they reinstall a parking lane and parking signs I'm gonna remove them. Just sayin.

    Calgary | NOMI | 38m | 11s | Kasian

The floorplans make this seem equivalent to some types of university dorm; little pods of 5 bedrooms that share a common kitchen and lounge. One bedroom is even a little bigger with the extra "office" for the floor supervisor or whatever , haha. Dunno if it's a great living arrangement but it...

    Calgary | Glenmore Landing | 115m | 35s | RioCan | NORR

Great, then it seems like the only relevant stretch of 10th is a single 200m stretch which sorts the the traffic volume onto 11th/12th. The rest is a great opportunity for pedestrianization. It sure looks like you could barricade 10th Ave just past 18th and push all traffic onto the couplets.
