What I have been wondering for a while is; why is Toronto suddenly getting all these high end hotels? There's Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Trump, Sharingla. They're all still under construction, so who will occupy them once they're all done?

The highway is the least of problems IMO. The biggest issue to me seems to be the fact that the place is completely surrounded by streets, so it's a bit of an odd location for a park.

The only way this would become more effective than traditional mass transit is if a network of these was built all across the city so people could use this to get from anywhere to anywhere with little supplemented walking. Maybe they're just expecting a lot of population growth on the lake shore. It is the lake shore after all. Developers should look into placing condos there.

So much hate for the Gardiner :( It's my favourite highway in the city, it has such incredible views of the down town. I say fix it up and give it a few upgrades, but whatever you do don't get rid of this awesome freeway.
