    Toronto Toronto | Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

What I have been wondering for a while is; why is Toronto suddenly getting all these high end hotels? There's Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Trump, Sharingla. They're all still under construction, so who will occupy them once they're all done?

OpenStreetMap: Hey let's map this place!

Oh god there's so much stupid in just these two lines.

Minorities to be majorities in two CAD cities by 2031, Statistics Canada projects

I would cordially invite my fellow forumers to return to the topic at hand. What are the potential consequences of this trend?

    Toronto Toronto | Underpass Park | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The highway is the least of problems IMO. The biggest issue to me seems to be the fact that the place is completely surrounded by streets, so it's a bit of an odd location for a park.

    Toronto Toronto | Underpass Park | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Looks pretty funky. Would need a few more pictures to decide if it's actually good.

OpenStreetMap: Hey let's map this place!

Have you tried comparing it to other maps like Google or Yahoo? The detail is uncomparable. As for the interface, I really don't know what part of it you find unsuable. There are some issues, but for the most part I've had little difficulty editing the downtown area, and the less detailed...

OpenStreetMap: Hey let's map this place!

I present to you, the greatest thing invented since Wikipedia: OpenStreetMap I'm sure you're all familiar with Wikipedia and how it works. This is basically the same thing, but with the world map. Go on, edit it, add stuff, ect. Most of the world is pretty empty, the developed world including...

    East Bayfront: Parkside/Bayside/Dockside neighbourhoods Overview

I used to hate the silos, but now I think they're actually pretty cool. Fix it up and add something to the roof.

Should the Toronto Islands be kept as-is?

Would be nice if there was at least an LRT line going to the park, maybe have a bridge on the airport side and a tunnel on the other? That would be so expensive though...

Should the Toronto Islands be kept as-is?

I was thinking of turning the whole island into a district of it's own. I mean putting down actual tall buildings and making the whole place relatively dense.

Should the Toronto Islands be kept as-is?

Just today I began to think about the advantages of building over the Toronto Island Park. I know that the first opposition to this (the same thing I used to think) is that why get rid of a beautiful park that's surrounded by water and is so close to the core? But let's be honest here, not...

Ont Gov't building at 880 Bay, at Grosvenor St (ORC, 44s?, WZMH)

    That's one badass building.

SkyTran - The Future Of Travel

The only way this would become more effective than traditional mass transit is if a network of these was built all across the city so people could use this to get from anywhere to anywhere with little supplemented walking. But such a network would be ridiculously expensive to build, be expensive...

    Streetview comes to Canada!

I am happy to announce that Google finally brought street view to Canada! "But wait!" you might ask, wasn't street view in Canada for a while now? Well, yes, but only partially. Today when I went to look at the more isolated parts surrounding Toronto on Google maps, I was surprised to see that...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Montreal Métro New Stock - MR-08

Very nice trains. I guess they didn't want to fall behind Toronto.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Maybe they're just expecting a lot of population growth on the lake shore. It is the lake shore after all. Developers should look into placing condos there.

    Sky park

So much hate for the Gardiner :( It's my favourite highway in the city, it has such incredible views of the down town. I say fix it up and give it a few upgrades, but whatever you do don't get rid of this awesome freeway.
