  1. Hub

    Boston | The Hub on Causeway | 182.87m | 47s | Boston Properties | Gensler

Lots of excavation/grading/soil work! Still no word on the height figure for the spire, alas.
  2. Hub

    Boston | Pierce Boston | 115.21m | 30s | Samuels & Associates | Arquitectonica

Crane is up, so this can be marked as "Under Construction"! I don't have any pictures, as I haven't been near the site in some time, but you can see it on the skyline. In the meantime, let's introduce everyone to this beauty, which will be one of the tallest buildings outside the main skyline...
  3. Hub

    Boston | One Dalton | 226m | 61s | Carpenter & Company | Pei Cobb Freed

The word through the grapevine is that underground work (caissons and whatnot) is almost complete. There's certainly less machinery onsite than there used to be.
  4. Hub

    Boston | Millennium Tower | 209m | 60s | Millennium Partners | Handel

Standing tall and proud. Mostly interior work on Millennium nowadays. The top floor penthouse is under agreement for $37 million.
  5. Hub

    Boston | Avalon North Station | 136.85m | 38s | Avalonbay | CBT

Crane is down! They're dragging out finishing the facade, but the upper levels are starting to get covered up. All of the precast concrete panels have been installed; only glass and metal remains.
  6. Hub

    Boston | 888 Boylston | 93.87m | 17s | Boston Properties | FXFOWLE

A broader skyline view: 888 is next to the tall tower on the right. The final pieces of the wind turbines up top are being installed; I'll take pictures the next time I'm close by.
  7. Hub

    Boston | 30 Dalton Street | 87m | 26s | Pritzker Realty | Pei Cobb Freed

A quick update as foundation work finishes up at 1 Dalton across the street:
  8. Hub

    Boston | 380 Stuart Street | 117.95m | 27s | John Hancock | SOM

This project is being self-developed by John Hancock Insurance as their fourth office building in the city. Other Hancock buildings include 200 Berkeley, 200 Clarnedon (formerly Hancock Tower and Boston's tallest) and an office building in the Seaport District. SOM is the lead architect with a...
  9. Hub

    Project Tipline

Boston | 380 Stuart Street | 118m | 27s | John Hancock | SOM This is a new office building for John Hancock Insurance Company, which is self-developing the tower. All information can be found in this (large!) document...
  10. Hub

    Boston | One Dalton | 226m | 61s | Carpenter & Company | Pei Cobb Freed

This will be Boston's first "ultra-luxury" development and make Boston one of a handful of cities with two Four Seasons hotels. Prep work is currently underway on site (which currently contains more rigs than you've ever seen in such a small space.) They're drilling caissons all the way to the...
  11. Hub

    Boston | One Dalton | 226m | 61s | Carpenter & Company | Pei Cobb Freed

Boston's 2nd tallest building is underway. First off, let's get some renderings up for this momentous project (via Pei Cobb Freed):
  12. Hub

    Boston | Millennium Tower | 209m | 60s | Millennium Partners | Handel

More photos! This one's such a beauty. From a distance:
  13. Hub

    Boston | Avalon North Station | 136.85m | 38s | Avalonbay | CBT

Facade is nearly topped! Curious to see how they resolve the pattern with the mechanicals. This project is wonderfully visible as you enter and exit your train at North Station. From a distance (City Hall Plaza):
  14. Hub

    Boston | 888 Boylston | 93.87m | 17s | Boston Properties | FXFOWLE

Further progress and angles! An ungainly rear Peeking through
  15. Hub

    Boston | 30 Dalton Street | 87m | 26s | Pritzker Realty | Pei Cobb Freed

This is very, very close to complete! It represents the first of a pair of towers being erected by Pritzker (the other being the 755' Four Seasons Tower at 1 Dalton). Here are some renderings (via Pei Cobb Freed): And here's some photos, now that it's finishing up: Eagerly...
  16. Hub

    Boston | Copley Place Residential Tower | 191m | 47s | Simon | Elkus Manfredi

I noticed the update! Glad to inspire. I, too, am curious to see when/if/how they excavate for this project. I'm going to add a bit of historical context: as messy of a pedestrian environment Copley Place is now, it actually used to be nonexistent: 1957: No Mass Pike or Prudential Center...
  17. Hub

    Boston | The Hub on Causeway | 182.87m | 47s | Boston Properties | Gensler

Will do! I'm quite curious about the figure myself, I asked the developer directly and they're playing it close to the chest. You'll know as soon as I hear.
  18. Hub

    Boston | Copley Place Residential Tower | 191m | 47s | Simon | Elkus Manfredi

A refresher on what will surely be a beautiful tower for Boston (renderings via the Boston Globe): Behind-the-scenes foundation work is underway- this tower is over a highway on an air rights parcel and construction/prep work will take longer than usual for a tower of this size as a result.
  19. Hub

    Boston | Avalon North Station | 136.85m | 38s | Avalonbay | CBT

Facade installation has slowed, but is ongoing. I'm sure cold and windy weather has played a part in the delay.
  20. Hub

    Boston | The Hub on Causeway | 182.87m | 47s | Boston Properties | Gensler

In addition to some minor design updates, excavation has begun! Spire update on office tower: Made a bit more substantial (not unlike the new Comcast building in Philadelphia) Height is still unclear for the spire, unfortunately.
