Don't be so sure about that. People are stupid and/or have short memories. Recall the corruption under Lastman, and Miller's advocacy for a strong mayor system only a few years later. IMO it was one of Miller few missteps, but I don't really want to rehash THAT discussion.

Not sure about MTown. He seems to be away for long-ish stints and then comes back, but it's been a while and, like my kitty cat in high school, I always knew one of these times that I'd never see his cute little gap-toothed avatar again (okay, I'll admit that simile is a crime against language)...

Eff that. The real brilliant bit was bringing in that caveman, who IIRC is a veterinarian and can write prescriptions for Ford. Also, I hear he chefs up some yummy hot dogs.

Both. This thread, even at its worst, is what has sustained me through these awful years. I take the good with the bad (and sometimes scroll more quickly than others). Also, I miss MTown: a guy who adjusted his language parameters after offending some people in the first few weeks. Also, he's...

...not to mention the manner in which he beat the rap.

Er, please tell me that "Frank D'Angelo song" is not the extent if your Googling of this man. If so, I'll just redirect to the speculated-in-this-thread notion that he and Ford may have crossed paths, given their coincident geography, extracurricular activities, temporal existence, and...

Ahem...I believe there is a horse who raced against Mr. Johnson in the Charlottetown mud in the early nineties who would beg to defer* with you. Several dozen spectators, too. *intentional, for clarity.

Getting warmer Full props to the nfitz-specific troll). Could maybe used a "boom. done.", but "End of story" is acceptable. "innocent of all charges and not guilty" is among your best lines ever.

Yup. If the ultimate response doesn't include the phrase "if our mayor doesn't go on a booze-crack bender then the leftward terrorists win" I want my money back

You've been missed, but this is but a mere poke from a soldier like you. This had better be the meta-troll's meta-trollbait, to be appropriately followed by a keen distillation of the Nayshun's current state of mind. Yours with baited breath, etc. Edit: just caught up. Am now satisfied. Thx.

Unfortunately, in the penultimate paragraph, Gee projects his own wishful thinking about the situation: "To the public, it looks like the kind of bureaucratic turf battle that often overtakes big organizations. Instead of working together to get the bad guys, the two forces appear to be sniping...

It's so true. By extension, maybe Pol Pot was onto something.

Somehow I don't think the CIA is going to sponsor *our* coup.

^This should be chiselled on the man's tombstone, but that would only be possible if he were capable of dying. Funny story: Fantino once proposed going halfsies with York University to buy a tank to patrol the Black Creek ravine.
