    Calgary | Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

It's going to be above grade beyond 16th - otherwise the line will never get built with how costly it would be to fully tunnel. So is it that big of a trade off if it's at grade before it?

    Calgary | Green Line LRT | ?m | ?s | Calgary Transit

That's because it's by 2039. ;) I feel though that just because you see something on these maps, doesn't mean that it will get built. On the previous forecast form 2006, it has Sarcee TR SW connecting to Shaganappi TR NW through Edworthy Park. That's no longer in the plans.

    1974 Grandstand | 34.3m | 7s | Calgary Exhibition and Stampede | Howard Lobb & Partners | J.H. Cook and Associates

Wasn't the Foothills + McMahon study that purpose? Or is there a study into keeping McMahon, or building a replacement stadium somewhere else?

    Sunalta

Since this is related to what you're saying, Sunalta Community Association is looking to revamp their space. https://www.sunalta.net/imagine

I would prefer the current plan from West Village since the development and environment by the river is better for residences, commercial and pedestrians. Rush hour traffic having a few more lights for downtown ingress/egress is a fair trade.

I don't think Calgary should be aiming to have better stadium than those two cities have. They put in a lot of money, for a league that's not finically stable, and honestly has an uncertain future. Those stadiums are high quality builds, but expensive. I don't think CSEC needs to, or is even...

    Sunalta

I primarily created this thread since Two House has had it's official re-opening at it's new location during the August long weekend. With that, and Best of Kin opening up soon, it seems Sunalta has become Barley Belt west by having three breweries within the community this year. Once the three...

    Sunalta

Sunalta has been a long overlooked community that borders downtown. But with ongoing developments in the community, and 10 Ave SW priming to become Calgary's latest main street to transform, it appears the community is on the rise.

The grandstand option main weakness would likely be the angle of the seats on both sides of the field. The seats are oriented to face the centre of the rodeo portion. On the CFL field, patrons sitting in the central part of the stands would have to twist necks extensively more than they would at...

    Calgary | University District | ?m | ?s | University of Calgary Properties Group

I mentioned it in the Capela thread already, but my post may be more applicable here. If this area is the most urban outside of the downtown core, I feel that it gives even more merit to have a gondola/people mover system go through the NW-Hub, rather than settle with just MAX routes as the...

I didn't take that into consideration, but I think it would be better for Stamps overall if it's located in the C+E district that the city wants to have pan out. For all parties involved, CSEC, Stampede, and the City, (as well the university) it would better serve Stamps playing there, rather...

    Calgary | Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

Not to mention some off these buildings have different sports that play in the same day; such as hockey/basketball transition. A full house works in CSEC favour since they should be able to accommodate.

I do agree that trying to make an urban boulevard out of Crowchild by the McMahon area seems fairly illogical, and wouldn't reap the benefits of what it's intending considering no matter what, Crowchild is going to function as a freeway north and south of it. It would be a case where it does...

    Calgary | Capella | 21m | 5s | Brookfield | McKinley Burkart

If this area is the most urban outside of the downtown core, I feel that it gives even more merit to have a gondola/people mover system go through the NW-Hub, rather than settle with just MAX routes as the main rapid movement within the area. Initially I thought that a gondola from Westbrook to...

    Calgary | The Bridge | 52.42m | 16s | Jemm Properties | Zeidler

Indeed. Bridgeland has leveled up tremendously in the past several years. Good to see after how long it's taken for it's development to take off.

    Calgary | Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

Is that so? Seems all their local games still will be at the Dome for the 2022-23 season. https://whl.ca/schedule/279/202

    Calgary | Sunalta Heights | 88.39m | 27s | Housing One | S2

Two House looks pretty prime to open early this summer I would say. They've had furnishing inside there added a few weeks ago.

    Calgary | Oliver | 121.3m | 35s | Centron | Gibbs Gage

This project, as well as the other ones on 10th in the past few years has completely transformed the potential of that corridor. It's now a desirable spot to live, and set up commercial shops. I wouldn't be surprised if there's not at least several more projects that get built along that road in...

    Calgary | Stephen Avenue Quarter | 241m | 66s | Triovest | Gibbs Gage

I don't really take issue with the size of the proposal. It's right in the mid section of the CBD, so that's where tall is suppose to go. But I feel the street level has to be significantly better - mainly on the 7th ave side. I would appreciate it if the old heritage buildings could be...

    Roads, Highways & Infrastructure

I'm open minded in having this as a park underpass, and remove vehicle access, but ONLY if the 14th Street interchange gets an overhaul, and it's direct access in all directions - as well improves sidewalk width for pedestrians and cyclists since it's extremely narrow currently. Don't make...
