10th Ave SW is a future Mainstreets priority. As development moves west, and the City begins its planning stage for Sunalta, obvious focus should (will) be placed on the 10th Ave and 16th St intersection, with the C-train station and Sunalta Park / Community Hall acting as the main anchors for the area.
The intersection could be a potential location for a pedestrian scramble.
The Park should undergo substantial improvements, such as removing all chain link fencing, matching grade with the sidewalk along 16th St and 11 Ave, including a diagonal pathway from the 10th Ave / 16th St intersection to improve pedestrian movement to/from the C-train station, creating more of a gathering space by removing certain recreational aspects (e.g., soccer nets) and adding seating/focal point where people might eat their lunch, on top of other obvious improvements.
This is such a small park, it shouldn’t require a huge investment to make a vast improvement.
