    Really Well Built Condos

Can only comment on one Freed building, but the build quality is abhorrent. So many issues.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Transportation planners in this city really love taking the word "rapid" out of "rapid transit." What a joke. Light rail transit is wasted on this city.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Yeah that was my bad, sorry again. The point I was trying to get at (which I'm sure plenty will disagree with) is this: I'm glad Toronto is back to exploring light metro (i.e a medium capacity, grade separated transit system) again. I've done a 180 on light rail (i.e the hybrid Eglinton or...

Well at least in Toronto's case, they wouldn't use those god awful low floor vehicles.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Yeah the Scarborough RT is light metro, I see how my post wasnt clear on that. I had meant modernizing it, not replacing it with light metro (which it already is!). The issue was largely the implementation and then especially, the neglect. There's nothing wrong with light metro itself, whether...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Light metro is something Toronto should have adopted years ago. Would have been way better for Sheppard, Eglinton and revamping the Scarborough lrt. I'm not against it so long as the trains are long enough to match the capacity. They better not cheap out on it like Vancouver did. Edit: to...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Its interesting and not at all surprising to hear the Wynne government suppressed that information, given their general sliminess. Yet, I'm not sure I can really be upset at them for it. Of note is this line: In her 2018 report she noted that Metrolinx had recommended in late 2014 that given...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Depends what the goal is. Streetcars in great in toronto, but they arent being sold as the spine of the city's transportation network, nor should they be. This type of service is a choice. We are spending hundred of millions or billions of dollars on new infrastructure and then intentionally...

Respectfully, I'm not sure what your post has to do with mine. My post was not a comment on Bombardier. Appologies if it came across otherwise.

    Montréal Transit Developments

Hopefully the mayor keeps pushing for the diagonal portion of the pink line (as a full metro). Really a shame how politically difficult it is to get subway projects built.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Reliability, capacity and comfort are important, dont get me wrong. But speed is also important and theres no reason for a 1.2 billion dollar line we shouldn't expect that. Its like being told you'd get an entire cake and end up only getting three quarters. Still good, but not as good as you...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Then why design the spines of our transit system around them? I can't say I understand the infatuation we seem to have with these vehicles to the point that we need them on every line we're building regardless of the role the line plays in the wider network. Yeah yeah yeah, "low floor," how...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Would definitely love to hear that this was an error on their part and the line will not be that slow. But I'm not optomistic. Toronto transportation planners/engineers sure do love taking the "rapid" out of "rapid transit." I find it a bit disturbing that some people in hear are trying to...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

A bit off topic, but what exactly do you propose? Many streets in toronto arent wide enough to accomodate streetcar platforms without taking away lanes, and no one wants to do that. The streetcars are necessary for capacity.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Thank god the one stop nonsense is dead.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

I don't see Doug supporting a non grade separated LRT in the east. I guess the city could pay for it itself, but it is an extension to a line the province owns, so I'm not sure how that would work. Its possible this may yet live but I don't see it being built any time soon

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

When I first heard the plan I figured it would be ending at Ontario Place itself, but ending at Exhibition actually would be pretty solid as its a connection point for several different other lines. And it could still head up to Dundas West (which I personally prefer) or over to Park Lawn and...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Extending the line to Ontario place is dumb. As is trashing years of design work. Glad it has a funding commitment up to Eglinton, though

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Best news I've heard all day. Nice, I hope that's the case. I much prefer visible tracks.
