Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

RER should serve the need to go downtown better than a subway would, though there is the issue of fare integration. The transfer would still be there, but simplified - no more stairs. Hope off one train and get on another. Plus a Eglington wouldn't have one. I agree with you on Sheppard.

I thought the water table in the area was a significant problem and part of the high cost? Ultimately, subways are too expensive. Across the board. We can't keep going on like this, years between extensions with so many parts of the city left unfufilled. I know we all like subways but... on...

    TransPod Hyperloop

Sort of like those tubes in Futurama. Hyperloop (Or "Transpod" in this case) is cool in concept. It would be pointless to use as a replacement for busses or local trains since the distances are so short. Some concerns include how to maintain a vacuum in a tube for such long distances, what...

But we're spending 3.5 billion to get rid of a few minutes in the current plan too. Not that I disagree with the general point of your post. But seeing as I completely lack faith in Metrolinx in implementing decent signal priority, I must admit I'd prefer total grade separation in concept cause...

Hopefully less if they have the sense to elevate it on Don Mills...

Crosstown LRT - Aga Khan Park & Museum (Ferrand) Stop (Metrolinx, ?s, IBI Group)

Looks nice, though I have to wonder how Vaughan got away with those fancy stops for a bus line, while this is pretty barebones by comparison. Also I'm curious why they went for two platforms on either side rather than one center platform, though thats not really a big deal.

I like you, lets be friends. Unfortunately looks like this thing is going through no matter how much it costs. Toronto transit planning at its finest.

At the same time, taking out a stretch of a street entirely seems a bit excessive, and at least based one the images above. Now, if all of those areas will be immediately replaced by new buildings, its less of a concern, though still a bit of a shame since old buildings add flavor to a city...

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

Strongly support distance based fares. It just makes sense, and would add total consistency to the system. Tap when you get on, tap when you get off. Thats it. Always. It doesn't make sense for someone going one stop to pay the same fare as someone going ten. It doesn't make sense for someone...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Skytrains are beautiful and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise...!

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Cities grow and change all the time. Keeping something around for the sake of keeping it around can have value, sometimes. But in general, I think the function of the transit system as a transit system is far more important. The city will adapt. I'm not sure a subway with a streetcar...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Toronto experiences something called W-I-N-T-E-R when mother nature feels like trying. Which hasn't been much, lately. Toronto is not the only city that gets snow. In fact, plenty of cities get far, far more than we do, especially in recent years. Saying no to elevated because of snow is an...

That drawing almost makes Downsview look like a nice, not-at-all mediocre park. Boy, renders are fun. EDIT: TTC parking back at Yorkdale eh? Nice. A little late for me, but might end up using it today or tomorrow. EDIT2: 7 dollars?!! Thats crazy

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

First, thats a nice render. The problem I see is that automobiles/trucks are going to have to access the street sometimes. Stores do still need deliveries, right? Ambulances and firetrucks do need to get by. So what you end up having is trucks or ambulances parked on the tracks, which brings...

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Seems reasonable. Not sure its worthwhile to build a bridge over such a small width. This could probably be implemented much faster too.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

The creation of one single transit mall is not going to be an apocalyptic event for downtown traffic. Lots of cities have transit malls, and use them to high levels of success. They do have their challenges, but other cities have overcome that, so why can't we? I think the new NYC streetcar...

Metrolinx: Sheppard East LRT (In Design)

That is odd. I'm very surprised they mentioned it at all.
