Good catch, so for sure different tower designs. I thought it was the same design, but a better rendering, but I see in your post quite a few things are different on the tower portion.

This is only a guess on my part, but I suspect the tower shown in the original is also the tower shown in the recent rendering, but they've added two more to the mix, and including the conversion building and they now have a total of 4 buildings. 100ish units for the conversion and say 400ish...

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

Vancouver makes a good stand in for any place coastal, and if mountains are part of the geography, it works out well. The film that really made me crack up was 'Rumble in the Bronx' It didn't sub in very well for the Bronx in the scenes with mountains in the background lol.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Not to take this too far off topic, but I sometimes wonder if culture is more the separator than skin color. My inner-city-ish neighborhood was 99.9% white when I moved into it 20 years ago, but now has a mix of varying ethnic groups. The most noticeable change is the amount of people of Indian...

That's the perfect place for a storage building.

    Weather and Gardening Discussion

I have to confess, I've always used all-weathers and have never changed tires, but people seem to do mid-late October, and as people have mentioned, sometimes the long-term forecast is what decides it.

I would have been happy with the less dense part (in red).

I'm fully expecting Sharp to run. She's got that Jeff Davison vibe going.

    Weather and Gardening Discussion

It varies. There's often a snowfall hit in October, sometimes in September, but usually the snow goes away quickly. If you have 'summer only' tires, I would change sometime mid October.

    Statscan numbers

Translation Alberta received about 47K in Q2, ---> translation Calgary grew by approximately 20-25K in the quarter.

Agreed. Disappointment is a word I would use also. We have a lot of trouble getting any kind of density built around train stations, and along comes an opportunity to do so, and.... nothing but a few rowhomes with more parking and road than actual housing development. :(

    Calgary Municipal Politics

It wouldn't surprise me if he did run. He's been active in social media over the past couple of years possibly getting ready to take another run at it, softening his look to gain votes from people who didn't like Gondek, but liked him less. I think he would have a chance at winning if he ran...

    Calgary International Airport

These only my own observations, but almost everyone I know is flying overseas and stateside these days, and many say it's because the price isn't much higher than domestic in a lot of cases. The other thing that I've noticed in the work world is people are doing much less air travel for work...

    General Construction Updates

I don't mind the triangles, but thought the material was brick at first. One for certain, it won't like the typical suburban clone we are seeing these days.

Yep, since 2015. There's very little known about them unfortunately, as they haven't done any other projects. I found a bit of info relating to them on a construction related website. It mentions a start date of Nov, 2025 that I doubt is accurate, but may be a sign there is activity on this.

That's good news. Right now it's just a derelict house.
