    Toronto Toronto | Cherry House at Canary Landing | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

I'm not quite sold on this corrugated metal panelling or the really broken up window wall. Hopefully it looks better en masse because we're getting many kilometres of it...

Would it be fair to say they will be able to see through time and space? :P

    Toronto Toronto | 641 Queen East | 29.1m | 9s | Streetcar | Giaimo

I walked by on Monday and it seemed like all the commercial units are now vacant. It leads me to believe they intend to proceed.

They're very expensive, but you can buy basically unbreakable locks now -- even power tools will wear out before they are cut. Removing an e-bike battery is also a deterrent, although a pain to carry around. I also confirmed in writing with my insurance company that my e-bike is covered under my...

This building seems quite far along, but there’s so much key cladding left to be installed. The balcony separations, the entire podium, the underside of the transfer slabs. I still cannot form a judgement, but I think it might turn out well. At a minimum , it’s a nice warm colour overall.

Overall, it’s turning out better than I expected. Which is not to say I love the balcony design or don’t wish they had done something more sympathetic with the beautiful old buildings. But it has some nice qualities and isn’t a stinker.

I find the ground level and the protruding boxes to be way too busy. I think the project also would have benefitted greatly from the use of brown brick or stone on the podiums (too uniformly white for me). BUT, I love the distinctive pie latticework tower and the general effect this project...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

That is not good. It should be crystal clear to drivers that they must turn right, with no other option. The backup of cars will cause exactly the problem we want to avoid; blocking the intersection for multiple light cycles for streetcars. At this point, maybe the City should install signs...

I can't help but look at this building and think, mmmm.... pie.

The sweet full reveal. 🤤 Take it off, baby.

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

As much as I appreciate the novel height and some of the design elements of this building, boy is that a depressing picture. Every single building or manmade structure -- Depresso Grey. A literal Void of Imagination. What a missed opportunity in a massive, three-tower development to have some...

Where is the "never, because there are no consequences" option?

    Toronto Toronto | Mirvish Village (Honest Ed's Redevelopment) | 85.04m | 26s | Westbank | Henriquez Partners

Definitely a question of taste. I quite like concrete ceilings where it suits the build. I find them warm and interesting. I’d actually much prefer an exposed ceiling to million bulkheads and drop downs that take up visual space. Here, they didn’t use the type of ductwork or piping that...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

I honestly can’t believe this actually happened. Good on Chow and Council. I think this will help. It’s one thing for people to drive through an intersection on a green traffic light. It’s another thing psychologically to do it when facing a big red light. I’d still support putting red light...

    Toronto Toronto | Cherry House at Canary Landing | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

That's quite the hike for the Canary District or Distillery residents.
  16. Dr. Snoot

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Well, there used to be a full T&T in the Portlands when precisely nobody lived there, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

That would actually be great. There's a very small pharmacy at King and River, but nothing else nearby.

Their store up near Castlefield is quite the place even if the furniture isn’t 💯 my taste. Nice stuff.

I don't think governments should be shy to expropriate property when it's truly necessary to an important public project. Building a highway, subway, hospital, assembling a large park, especially where many properties need to be taken. But there's no reason why this specific site at this...
