    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Me when I’m in an insufferable and pessimistic challenge and my opponent is MacLac:

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Love the new flight routes out of YEG. Only thing missing is NYC (literally the only US East Coast connection we need, because you can reach the rest of the Northeast Corridor by decent quality rail service), LHR/LGA (key hub) and year-round to Frankfurt (another key trans-Atlantic hub) and I’ll...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

“If he wanted to he would 😒💅” But seriously, where was that route if they wanted to fly it so badly?

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Yeah, the feds locking international travel to those four largest airports during the pandemic really screwed over YEG and our momentum of trying to attract more long-haul pencil routes on smaller aircraft.

    Edmonton Companies News & Discussion

Bro, the Calgary tech sector should start leasing office space in your head the way they live rent free in there 😂 maybe that’s how we can lure more tech companies to the Edmonton area. All in all, great news though. I was scrolling the website and lots of big names from the Edmonton business...

    High Level Bridge

I think switching the directions of the HLB and Walterdale would be a good interim solution until we build a new rail and road bridge at 109th Street and make both that and Walterdale bidirectional.

    Edmonton | Metro Line LRT | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

You’re spot on. Giant elm tree canopies above residential streets are a distinct feature of Edmonton’s older neighborhoods, and the tracks run on what used to be a residential street. They wanted to preserve those trees while protecting the OCS so they built that canopy.

    High Level Bridge

    1. Hmm, now that I’m looking at the map, it looks like there would be space to keep the legacy bridge for footpaths and the streetcar (it would be awesome to convert those driving lanes to bike paths) and build a realigned 109th Street bridge. Honestly, that’s a great idea that’ll appeal to a...

    Edmonton | The Clifton | 55m | 15s

How’s the Instagram algorithm good enough to know that I follow developments like the Clifton a lot on this site but not good enough to know that there’s no way I can afford to live there? I’ve seen SO MANY ads for it.

    Capital Line LRT

Actually, I think it’ll be okay. In the new temporary setup, all directions will have two through-lanes and dedicated left- and right-turn lanes. It’ll be way better than right now, where lanes randomly end and a lot of dedicated turning lanes have been removed. Sure, the speed limit will be...

    Downtown Real Estate

Precisely. Red is gravel lots or vacant fields, orange is paved parking lots and yellow is surface parkades.

Reposting my map of all the downtown parking lots now that I set it to public access (I just noticed that it was set to Private 🫠) Downtown Parking Lots https://maps.app.goo.gl/i9idNtqK4kvX9XkYA?g_st=ic

    High Level Bridge

The more I visit the (thriving) retail/food scene on 109th Street and Jasper (by car, yes I know...), the more I wish I could go northbound directly on 109th Street across the river rather than detouring down to the Walterdale Bridge (easily an extra 10 minutes). And with the talk of Walterdale...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

The Condor flight to Frankfurt is a game-changer, especially since it has cheaper fares as a leisure airline. I saw deals for $800 round-trip tickets, and I’ll have accommodations in Frankfurt, so a Germany trip is very much on the horizon.

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

Is it closed for signage installation or something else? Edit: they’re fixing a barrier on the southern side of the Yellowhead mainline lanes. I think it’s at that spot where a drunk driver crashed his car and it started a fire.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

On top of where to put the OMF, I think the bridge, tunnel, Whitemud overpass and guideway over freight rail lines were also factors in prioritizing the southeast, since the costs to build them would have inflated significantly over time. Hence it was better to get that out of the way as soon as...

    Downtown Real Estate

I think the highest priority should be all of the gravel lots along 105th Street, since that’s the main entry point to Downtown from the south. (Also, the strip club’s there, and that’s the best attraction in Downtown.)

My time to shine. I made a map just for this: Downtown Parking Lots https://maps.app.goo.gl/KzranRiXMfsSgpF79?g_st=ic
